Am I doing something wrong or what? My client has original content and she's utilizing all social networking sites. Granted my clients site has only been up for roughly 2.5 weeks she was averaging 650 hits a day, now it's slow down to around 450? :help: It's a celeb, gossip blog...

Let me know if you need the link

    Thanks for any suggestions! :)

Hi this is what I suggest.

A blog gossip site is like an x-factor site, except the keywords you need to target you cant research fully you need to be able to anticipate the mindset of readers of celeb gossip in how they will search (check competitors site to see what reoccuring terms they regularly use), and then have keyword rich fresh articles designed to catch that target audience. Treat every article as if it was its own landing page.

Then use social bookmarking sites to help give the new article steam. Youll be able to tell if you hit a sweet spot for a search term relating to a current story because youll get a burst of a few thousand hits in a day out of nowhere, but because of the nature of your content its something you have to be on top of all the time.

    my 2 cents

Also, keep in mind the type of competition your client will have in search engines. Anyone from first-time bloggers to major news stations are constantly broadcasting celebrity gossip.

Like I learned from the X-factor course. You need to research your target audience (quantcast), find out where they like to visit and STAND IN FRONT OF THE TRAFFIC.

Every post needs to be optimized for traffic. The fact that your using "original" content will not yeild traffic spikes. Catchy headlines and properly SEO post's will. A few Press releases will also bring and onslaught of traffic.
