This is something truly weird..it has happened to me twice on 2 different websites.
Full Disclaimer: I'm aware of google's updates targeting trash affiliate sites ,however I DO NOT have Best X for X type of garbage amazon affiliate sites.
I hate content like that and would have to do my head in if I had to produce such junk , All of my content is pure Information type of content , or content that promotes my own products/services.
Few months ago, one of My websites had very nice exponential traffic growth, decided to add some suggestions with amazon affiliate links, got some decent earnings..all went well..
Until a week later traffic started to drop and my Exponential traffic growth Halted, I dismissed the thought that adding amazon links had anything to do with it..
My website basically took a heavy hit and all natural growth stopped and it never went back up.. 1/2 of traffic lost.. barely any signs of any traffic gain for the next 3months..
around 1.5month ago, I decided to add some amazon links to one of my another websites that had nice growth and nice traffic, guess what happened? Yup.. a week later all growth stopped and started heavily declining...
I panicked again..I knew something was fishy, I removed all the damn amazon affiliate links after having them on for about 2.5-3weeks , Guess what happened? A Week later all my rankings more or less came back! Whooo.....
Now remember my 1st site I had same problems with and lost half of my traffic and stable growth? I still had the amazon links on it all this time, 2weeks ago I said f it and Removed them to ''test my luck''.
Guess what Happened A week later - My 1st Site that had been heavily hit for past 3 months started to grow rapidly out of nowhere and started to gain back most of its rankings/traffic!
WHAT THE HELL!
Now..I'm looking to hear from anyone else who has perhaps seen something like this happen as well?
Does this means that if you only have few amazon links on your content you will also get some sort of ranking disadvantage after these Updates Targeting Garbage Amazon Affiliate Content sites?
