I'm gonna buy a facebook fan page with 160k real people in a few days.
The genre of the page is "jokes", but i'm starting a movie site.
The problem that i have is that i don't know the right way to use it.
Should i change the name and make a post that "jokes" are now part of for example "Movie.com",
or should i just change the name and start posting movies.

The real question is what is the best way to preserve people on the page?
What do you guys think is the best thing to do?

well for a start, you cant change the page name if it has 160k likes. Also if your niche is movies chances are you wont get that many likes for a movie page~!

I dont think there really is much more info that you need.

If your making a movie site and your posting on a jokes page you will disengage your audience!

You can get creative. If people are looking for jokes you can have comedy movie articles written on your movie site and you can push that traffic towards the movies. Throw a watch free here link after each thumbnail to a "the 10 funniest movies of 2015". There's always ways to move traffic around.

My bigger concern would be what kind of reach is the page getting on link posts of any kind right now. You have to do some serious due diligence on page buying.

Just try to be creative here with some humor/comedy type movies post in the page and engage the fans there.

My concern would be are they legitimate Facebook accounts.

I can create a movie FB for you using purchased friends 200k in less than a month.

Yet it is completely useless. My advice build your own page harder but its yours invest purchase money for content and FB Ads.

First check how people are getting entertain from your page and then do continue it.

We are discussing if a page in jokes/fun niche can be used in the movie niche. OP didn't ask for "is the page fake or real", lets assume OP did his research and the page is with real likes.

OP it can work, I see lot of pages that are promoting stuff that are not in that niche. As example a one big architect and design page is promoting viralnova stuff and its works.
The great thing about the jokes/fun niche is really broad. People that enjoy that kind of stuff usually enjoy watching tv shows and movies.

I think "joke short films" is not bad idea :) Or you should change you niche or buy another page in the same niche :)

If the page cost $1500 it is not a good idea! It`s better to make yourself a fan page, connected with movie niche. For $1500 you can make 80 000 likes or more, but all likes will be targeted and real! Think twice!

if you are getting the page at a good / cheap price , i'd suggest you go for it anyways.. pages that big are hard to find these days.

Maybe keep posting jokes and do something like Back2Basics suggested with the comedy movies. Get creative and I'm sure it can work out especially since both niches are enjoyed by most people.

There is nothing better than targeted traffic though. So unless I'd be getting the page for a good price, I would try to find a page in my niche or take the long way and use the money to start a new page. (just my opinion even though you didn't ask :p)
