Not big jump in ranking but once i had this:
I had my website hosted on a Netherlands server while i was targeting US traffic, after i got many articles posted on that domain, i noticed i got most traffic worldwide (not the US i was targeting), then i switched to a US server and everything went as i wanted it to, 80% of traffic from english speaking countries.
