It depends on what you are ranking for. But if there is a keyword you want #1 for, I would have the keyword(s) in the domain. This has always worked for me.

you can outrank any site you want.. unless you try outranking G00gle, then you might as well just stop.. but seriously. all it takes is elbow grease and a lot of money and work. there are quite a few sites outranking sites that shouldn't be... ive even seen fake parked pages outranking good sites for good keywords.

It's obvious that you can outrank these sites. You just have to keep building links for the required search term as your anchor text.

Keep doing the things that brought you to #10. Remember that it is harder to move up in the top 10 then to reach top 10.

I think you need to take into consideration two things here for this competitors:

First, the traffic these sites receive. Which by Google may be considerate REAL traffic.
Second, the time the visitors spend on the site. When real people go there, they do spend time there searching and downloading software.

I do believe that overall, this will count for something. Another thing (Third?), check how you silo your website. Check the relevancy between pages, articles and anchor-texts used.

And of course, what is relevant to google to do an effective "siloing.":)

Just work and work and work and don't give up.

To answer your question more specifically you'd have to tell us the keyword, but don't.

I am pretty sure you can, as I have managed to outrank sites like zapera(or whatever the name is), overstock and many similar sites with a test I did and it was a very simple autoblog.

the exact keyword in the domain name will be the best way to give you the needed SEO power so to speak, to beat them.

Yes indeed you can, they seem like behemoths, cause they are. Just throw money at the problem.

Yes, you can easily outrank these websites. Build more content and backlinks. Don't just get backlinks to your homepage but to ALL of the pages. Put internal backlinks to the homepage and 1 more relevant page. You need to have more content and you need to be regular. 1 article per 4 days if you are not in too much of a hurry to outrank them. I

If you want to outrank them faster.. put out 2 articles per day for the next 7-14 days. You will be #1 in no time.

    he meant "keyword" !!
just list the keywords and LSI .. start building links for those .. rotate them .. make link wheels .. build backlinks to your backlinks(mainly edus and govs).. keep doing this for couple of months on daily basis .. daily add a couple of "SEOed" articles to site with proper keyword density and tagging .. give special importance to your url, title and description ... submit the spun articles to article directories ..

all you need is money (to outsource) or otherwise the hard work to do it yourself !

    luck ! :)
