It's hard enough to find a decent native writer that will produce well researched quality content..
Is it even possible to find a Non-Native writer that Has got Both - Great english writing Skills + Good research skills / work ethics?

When I first started hiring writers a year ago, I think I went through like 20 non-native writers before throwing in the towel. I was able to find some writers who really tried to produce good content, however their english skills were just not there...

Out of all I only found one that was excellent, a Nigerian School teacher that also happened to write for a local magazine..
He took his time to create the content and only produced 3-4articles/month for me, however most of his content was better than I have received from most of the native writers I have received due to his attention to detail and spending insane amounts of time on research.

What's your experience like?
If you have had some great writers, where were they from?

For the best quality content I don't think it's possible.

Just like I don't think a non-native person for China would be able to writer Chinese at the same level a native Chinese person would be able to.

The difference is discretely but clearly obvious, even with good non-native writers.

Indeed is possible but those in non-English-majority regions are less likely to have as good of a grasp on the language compared to those in the states, have had many non-Native writers submit work to me over the years and while I can say some were decent and better than some samples I have seen from native writers, the biggest issue for me was the inability of these writers to write content that is not just punctually and grammatically proper but naturally-read and written.

Coming across good writers can be hard and the best thing to do, and this is not uncommon, is to have the writer submit you a few-hundred-word sample so you can gauge the quality, any serious writer that sees an opportunity with you should be willing to do this.

That's what I also found, while it's possible to find someone who has good grammar, It's much harder to find one that can write in a good natural flow.

Yes a lot of good non-Native some good examples include

Indians
Pakistani
South Africans
Kenyans
Russians

A lot of these people can in some cases do better English or grammar skills than native English speakers for example m my Pakistani lady she does good quality articles for me like how a university student writes.

One of my Russian ladies does very good quality articles since she is highly intelligent and has a good cut throat way to do articles as well so again good or better than native English people as well.

It's not easy to find, but there's absolutely amazing writers who are not native.

One of the websites I manage is UK audience specific and writers are not native. The content is amazing and much better than previous English and Irish writers.

Not saying that it's common, but it's absolutely possible. You should judge the writer based on their writing, not where they're from.

On the other hand, I also found it very difficult to navigate through so many applications of average or shit writers when we were hiring outside UK/US.

Well I can suggest you few and I believe you won't regret it, all you need to do is share the details.

there are linguists/philologists in the CIS countries, some even studied in England, who write much better than native speakers, while the cost is much less than native speakers.

It's hard because they don't understand the lingo/slang most people use in the U.S.

I've hired people where they use the words "as per" "for instance" and a few I can't think of at the moment.

unless you keep training them not to use those words and you keep auditing their writing.

It's absolutely possible. You just have to be willing to pay the price for it.

It's really possible to find non-native writers specialized in some European languages (English, obviously, German, French, Italian, Spanish). But finding someone who knows Chinese, Norwegian or Danish is pure luck.
