first , sorry my english, i using a translator

I think the only time I almost died was when I was around 15 years old, at that time I loved riding a bike, I went everywhere with my friends, but I lived in mauá/SP at the time, it's a city full of downhills and hills, and I loved riding my bike running

it happened that one day I and a friend were running a lot downhill (I think it must be speed 40 an hour or so), but at the end of the descent there was a curve and the brake wasn't working, at the time I froze, I knew it wasn't I was going to be able to turn at that speed, my luck is that there was a couple and the woman was very fat, I hit the woman with everything, she fell and scraped her arm, I lost consciousness, when I came back I was standing and the guy talking a lot shit to me (rightly), I'm glad he didn't hit me, if it wasn't for the fat girl to break my fall I would have hit the wall and probably would have died, after that I didn't run anymore

When I saw your title I came to post a story about riding my bike down a hill.

My story involves me being very stupid and taking a risk I normally would never take. Just this one time I took a risk like this. I applied the brake, but did not slow down fast enough. I was about to ride into cars/traffic so I intentionally crashed the bike before then and broke my arm. 10+ years ago and I never rode a bike since then.

Yeah, I've had some crazy surgeries. Nothing to brag about there. Stuff that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

There have been a handful of situations, but the most memorable was when I was hiking with a gf at the time. We had gone through a secret/off limits area, where there were cylindrical cement barriers (7-9' long). This was all on a hill, so it confused us why there were some. Little did we know, that they had fallen from higher up, during some construction, and just kinda stuck there. They looked stable and we had to pass under them. I let my gf go first and she made it, but as soon as I went under them, they slipped and I had to jump over one like a cat doing parkour. Lol. Scariest moment of my life. Needless to say, we never went on that secret path again. Lol

Almost a motorbike fatal accident. I was 13 then and stole my father's bike so I could practice how to ride it. I knew beforehand how engine bikes work and I saw my father running it many times so I had an idea how to properly run in, though I have never tried riding it myself. Since nobody was assisting me practice I did it myself. I was really nervous and couldn't think straight thus I wasn't able to run it properly. I crashed the bike against a concrete lighting post, the impact was strong enough that I front tire folded in itself. Got myself lucky that I jumped before it crashed the post but I still got pretty bad bruises. I really thought I was gonna die and I could have had hadn't I jumped on time. Since then I have never ridden a motor bike. Thinking about that incident discourages me from doing so.

Had some injuries but not to the extent you guys wrote of. But here is almost death from fear, and why I would never till this day share a ride with just anyone:

About 15 years ago. We were crossing the bridge traveling to next door country to attend a cosplay event and to save fuel/effort of everyone bringing their own cars we shared vehicles, customs at the border do their typical checks and tell us to exit the vehicle and they go through our stuff: I was ghost from cod, friend 1 was luffy, friend 2 was guerilla from cs, the 4th dude we have no idea, he is a friend of a friend joined the ride.

So customs laugh off the airsoft guns, the straw-hat and ask and we tell them its for a costumes convention. The face of the customs officer changes 180 degrees and calls in extra officers and now we see their superintendent approaching the vehicle's trunk. Myself and guerilla both stare at luffy, he is a diver and has a harpoon gun (WHICH IS RESTRICTED IN BOTH COUNTRIES, FFS LUFFY THIS WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A FUN WEEKEND, LEAVE IT AT HOME).

By now the other friends and their vehicles left the customs area and entering the country, we are stuck for like 30-35 minutes, they ask luffy the driver to approach the office for further investigations, all this while palpitations have reached a new high and it doesn't help weather is hot, humid, and no wind; after 20 minutes he comes back upset and angry and they call the 4th guy in (friend of a friend).

Luffy tells us the officers found prosthetic breasts, womans lingerie, veet, a ton of makeup, and wigs; simply put the guy is a cross-dresser, or crossplayer. I think you could hear our hearts being swallowed. Like thats it, prison for 20-30, probably see sun again in our 40s. Luffy is in the navy and it took him like 5 weeks to get a clearance permission to leave the country so he is upset; another hour go by and now its dark and 4th guy is back from the office.

All his bags were confiscated, and they let us go on the condition when we leave the country we need to offer statements and go for another thorough vehicle checkup, and yes a week later thats exactly what we did while 4th guy took the plane.

It was tramatizing, knowing how strict the laws are even after leaving the customs I can feel my heartbeat behind my eye sockets. All all that 4th guy said "I didn't know, I thought it was okay".
