Okay, so I've always been wondering about tiers in link building, but I've never taken any action until today. I've read for a few hours, and now I wish that some of you experts could answer my question(s).

So this is how I think I should do:

    Money Site
    - High quality article(s). Some social bookmarking directly to the money site.

    Tier 1
    - Web 2.0:s (Wordpress, blogger, tumblr etc. (High PR sites in general, PR3 +)) all pointing with links to my money site. Also maybe a link wheel between all the web 2.0:s? - I write some articles for the web 2.0:s, but not a unique article for every site in this tier. I write some articles but spin them, maybe 95% uniqueness?
    - To this tier I do social bookmarking, wiki links, article directory submission with backlinks to this tier, press releases?

    Tier 2
    - More web 2.0:s pointing to my tier 1? Link wheel between those too?
    - Scrapebox spamming blasts pointing to these? Social bookmarking also?
    - Highly spun content, doesn't have to be very unique.

    Tier 3
    - Is this tier really necessary? If it is, should I do this with web 2.0:s also?
    - Random spam on high pr blogs etc

Okay, so now I would need someone to check on this and tell their opinion. I've also noticed that some of you are using a tier 4? : o Is it really necessary, or is it just for really competed keywords that you use the tier 4?

Thank you all in advance! :)

Thank you very much. Those two posts changed my scheme a little, this is what I got out of them:

    Money site:

    - Nothing changed here

    Tier 1

    - About 15-20 Web 2.0:s with atleast 400 words of content on each. Also add some random posts about random stuff, and one related to your niche with links to your money site.

    - Document sharing, 1 article to 5-10 sites.

    - About 200 social bookmarks, decently spun and 15 high PR bookmarks all with unique content.

    - High PR blog comments, 20 - 40. (I'm not sure I would want to do this, I think it seems spammy...)

    - Video sharing, pretty simple. Upload on YT and Vimeo etc.

    Tier 2

    - About 1000 bookmarks to the web 2.0s, documents, videos

    - Documents and videos gets about 4000-5000 Wikis.

    Tier 3

    - Still don't know if necessary, but this would consist of blog comments to all the wikis.

    ----------------

    Would this be okay? :)

Tier 3 is mostly indexing. You can use services like lindexed for this or just do a huge scrapebox blast.

    Money site.
    ^
Tier 1: Private Blog Network Posts, PR1+ backlinks with low OBLs, etc
    ^^
Tier 2: ******** contextual links (preferably w/relevant unique content)
    ^^^
Tier 3: Generic spam links (bookmarks, wikis, forum profiles) and other generic nofollow links.
    ^^^^
    Tier 4: (Optional) Scrapebox/XRumer layers.

Remember that every time a site dies in the upper tiers it multiplies those losses exponentially which is why too many tiers is usually a bad idea.

It all depends on your selected niche and keyword, if you are trying for a competitive keyword then using layers will be helpful but if your keyword is not so strong and competing sites have not been updated since a long time or these are single posts picked by Google then using these backlink layers can increase competition. In that case you can rely only on using first layer web 2.0 as a test but do not write on exact keyword match if your targeting less competitive keyword. Using quality bookmarks to money site is nice idea while doing automated bookmarks submission to first layer will increase it indexing rate. After indexing of web 2.0 if you think, you need to add more layers then add it gradually, it will provide solid base to your site.

    Thanks
