I figured it would be best to make my own journey thread for BassTrackerBoat's Build and Bank Journey. I haven't been motivated to do a whole lot in IM for a while. You know that feeling where you get a rush through your body and think, let's take action. So I did. The basic premise behind the thread is to make what turns out to be a micro niche site targeting 60 easy keywords that have no competition. Hence build and bank in 60 days (I wonder if Greg thinks a keyword a day keeps the doctor away?). Throughout the thread BTB/Greg tells you what he is doing and what works for him. On this thread I'll be doing the same. I also want to note that I am not affiliated with any products or services I mention throughout this thread. They are only the things I like to use and things I am testing. I will share my opinion openly though. Stuff I use GSA SER + CB -You will hear a lot of people say this is dead but it is all in how you use it. Hosting - The guys over at Hostwinds are awesome. Domain Hunter Gatherer - Used to find my site for this journey as well as links for my PBN. Scrapebox - What's everyone call this now? The swiss army knife? Expired web 2s, images, etc. WP Theme - Because I don't really like the themes on themeforest. Keyword Research - Number 1 and Number 2 - Andres is a great dude and awesome keywords. I just bought keywords from number 2, so no opinions. I wanted to take advantage of the double keywords he is offering. VPS - TrustSignUp - No complaints. Instant Proxies - Probably the best private proxies you will find in terms of price and quality. TweetUp - Known this guy for years. Software works great. FollowLiker Pinterest - So far so good. Bought this a few days ago. Instaboost - Made by the same person as TweetUp. Doesn't have a site for it yet. Serp Checker - May be free but limits me from checking all the time. DragonSpeak - I'm from New England. I can talk faster than I type. Alright I think that covers all the stuff I'll be using. I'll be buying keywords because I suck at finding them. I am writing all the content because I like to have control over what goes on my site. I like knowing that anything that is on my site is completely unique. I don't want my content to be word and sentence spun. It will also save me a bit of money considering the prices of content seem to be increasing all the time. What Have I Done So Far? Picked a niche - My niche is home improvement. I've done a lot of it growing up. My dad always had projects and I was more than willing to help and learn. Scraped websites in my niche with DHG. Found a site with wiki links and a few authority sites in home improvement. I Registered the website and bought hosting with Hostwinds. I really like the themes at My Theme Shop so I went and bought TruePixel. It takes a lot of customization but once it's setup it looks nice. I decided to test two logo designers on Fiverr since I know branded logos cost an upwards of a couple hundred dollars. I ended up going with Kanishka. I was very happy with the results and I will likely be using him in the future for my projects. I bought a test package with Andres and got a decent keyword. I wrote the article that night of about 1000 words. I then bought another and ended up buying a custom package for 4 adsense keywords and an Amazon Keyword. All those now have articles and all of them have shown signs of ranking potential. Right now they have bounced off into wonderland though. I built a Twitter with TweetUp following users based on keywords like #diy and #homeimprovement. I also have been following users in my niche like BobVilla and ThisOldHouse. Right now I have 623 followers on Twitter. I have 6 tweets, all of which have retweets and favorites. Thanks for the free social signals. I decided this niche called for a Pinterest. I went ahead and registered and my friend Franklin Hatchett told me about FollowLiker's Pinterest bot. I decided to give it a go and I already have 23 followers in a couple days. I'm a complete pinterest noob so any followers is fine. I also built an instagram with Lajcik's Instaboost which has around 100 followers right now. The site has 7 articles and no more scheduled. I am currently waiting for the keyword research from Nihalsad. Once I have that I will go ahead and check out the keywords and see what ones I want to target first. I'll be using DragonSpeak to write all the articles and then post them to the blog. I haven't done any link building yet and decided just to try out a Behance link Greg posted about. All the links on Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and Behance are raw URL to get some authority going. I don't plan on doing any link building for a while but when I do I will post what I am doing and post some screenshots of ranks. I still need to learn how to Silo. I have been waiting for Greg but he likely has a couple users ahead of me. If anyone has any pointers that would be great. I'm really more hands on so if I can see something rather than reading a long description then I understand it better. I will pop in every couple of days with an update. Stay tuned.
