So instead of scraping content and posting it, you set up a content writing service which will write and post content every day, week or month?

I had an amazing writer who would write 400word articles for $3 per article. I mean amazing. He got lazy though. Looking for a new one now. It's for my money site so I hold pretty high standards for the write. I don't want them writing crazy incorrect info on my niche when I'm supposed to be an authority.

The short time I did have the writer, a few weeks I think, I didn't see too much traffic increase.

There's not necessarily any advantage in terms of traffic or ranking because you don't need unique content in order to get traffic if you're the man with the most links. Also there is a serious cost disadvantage if you're paying several dollars a post versus getting them for free.

The main advantage would be that you have less chance of getting banned or penalized for scraped content, you don't get any copyright complaints, and your site is Adsense safe. If you're looking for long term, more secure income, custom writing would be the way to go. However, you can build a perfectly stable income from generated autoblogs too - some will inevitably get nailed, but you make up for that by being able to crank out a virtually unlimited amount of them.

A unique, custom written blog also has a much higher resale value when it comes time to sell up.

I'd argue it's not really an "autoblog" if you don't have some kind of scraped or generated content. It's just a regular blog with predated posts.

    Thanks for the insightful reply.

I've not created an autoblog before. But I have seen the power of a regularly updated blog.

I'm quite skeptical, especially since the Panda update, that a scraped content autoblog is viable anymore. but ultimately I do not know.

I had an idea of making sure my keyword research is correct and then investing in a niche with a blog. The blog would be mainly made for adsense, so over $1 per click for the keywords would be required.

I would spend about $300 getting a blog writing service to post content once a day for a whole month. 100% unique and fairly well written. Then after this month I would reduce the posting to once every week.

By this time I would have covered most keywords in the niche which are worth targeting.

I fill out the site with adsense, place a big offer button at the bottom of each page in case anyone wants to buy through it and then simply concentrate on SEO.

I'm still thinking about this and foreseeing its flaws but it is a start.

I guess i'm trying to figure out a system for making money, this time with adsense. I feel that blogs which are regularly updated rank better and cover more keywords than regular static sites.

How do you safeguard your adsense account with an autoblog?

I personally dont think there is any need to worry about it since news sites don't have unique contents and all i do is cite the source.
I do however use TBS for articles that are not news but informational just to be safe.

    Hmm a news site.

When I was picturing my blog, I was thinking more inline with the health niche.

I would cover all the main keywords and then have the blog continually posting automatically by ordering a service.

Yes it will work good, how much are you buying articles for?
