I am currently in a pay per call offer that pays me $80 per call in the lawyer niche. I was wondering if anyone has seen any success ranking videos in certain cities? Like how many calls do you usually see per X amount of videos ranked.

I don't do videos, but from people who has experience with them, I know that they convert poorly than webpages. Nowadays I don't see many videos ranking around the local SERPs, at least it is not like before, but why don't try it yourself. Upload bunch of videos targeting SERPs with lesser competition, try to rank them, get your own data etc.

I never had experienced such but to target local audience you can properly optimize video before making it live. Get relevant title meta with targeted keywords might help you to achieve success.

I don't do Pay per Call, but how I use local business videos usually is to rank one for free for their brand name as part of my SEO Proposal to them. (Super fast to rank and they think you are some sort of Magical SEO Wizard lol).

They don't convert very well but it's a good branding opportunity.

Just as others have said, it doesn't convert very well, but one thing you should know is it is more easier to rank for local search than to rank for a broader search term.

    Thanks

I suggest using the videos only to prove clients that you can actually rank up something so you're basically giving them something of value. Basically paying like 5 dollars one lead but its worth it because they return will be high.

My suggestion is to create a website and rank it for certain keywords and then whenever someone reaches that website and calls your client you'll make a easy 80. Its better in the long run to do that but thats just my suggestion.

I havnt checked recently but $80 in the lawyer niche sounds a little bit low.

It sounds like you have a way to produce mass upload videos..... go for the long tails and obscure keywords if applicable

KW: workmans comp lawyer nyc <<<<not likely worth it if you want easy rankers
KW: hurt on the job in boston <<<much better (but I admit my brain is slightly blocked atm:)

the long tails will rank but may require upkeep...some people use videos to identify the winning terms and move that information to a nice well maintained website for long lasting results and conversions.

As far as calls... it will depend. I have youtube channels with long tail keywords where there are terms that the videos had no views. and other videos had 10-50 views. Conversions or calls is another story. If you scale it to the sky and takes less than a month even 20 conversions a month may be worth it for you.

Next month do the same for another offer and you may be at $3200 per month

be consistant for 6 months and do the MATH :) hope this was helpful!!

So does anyone think this is even a viable method anymore? Or does the poor conversion rate just make it not worth it?

I'm looking to try new things and recently came across this.

    viable, yes
coversion rate: depending on the video and audio quality, keyword(s) popularity and urgency, type of demographically targeted potietional cystomers(country, age, tendencies) + 100 more factors. Also there is the matter of your u tube video with seo done to bolster it with other marketing, promotion, posting it in related fourms, blogs, websites, yahoo anwsers, quora, local yahoo groups, etc).
any way to get people to your you tube video.

Whatever the method for the handshake between the customer and the colored hat is, the moment of your destiny, the phone call, the email submit, the ad click, the sales forum completion.. in this case we are a YouTube video for a service of sorts (could be yours) .

imagine you are ranked a little better then a television commercial and magazine ad. why? viewer intent.

Someone has clicked on your video, maybe typed in the terms.

You can manipulate this as you can ensnare viewers from different places. Targeting different keywords and making a site or a post somewhere or anywhere to link to the u tube video.

This way you can get a different customer base to view your u tube commercial with a high, converting rate, if you can filter the intent of the buyer intent regardless of the demographic you can have highly targeted viewers/conversions.
