Has anyone immigrated here from another country? If you have how did you do this? Is the grass greener on the other side? Is there a market for this? I am all for creating a better life for people in other countries. If you have a lawyer you can refer me too or if you know the laws in this area pitch in. I appreciate all you do!

I believe it at least cost 50k to move to the U.S. to buy a wife and everything lol and that is just getting here. Is this feasible for people? Is the idea of the U.S. and freedom compared to other countries worth the money and the chance you are taking to come here?

I personally believe most people are moving to the United States because of Hollywood, and not logical thought. The American dream of working hard and you will make it is complete bs(probably to get cheap immigrant workers). The only way to make money in any country is to work smart not hard. Why is it that some people in Russia are able to become millionaires and other became billionaires, and lots of Russian immigrants to usa say there is no opportunity in Russia to make money.

Unless you actually have to get out of the country due to something like what is going on in syria, you should do a complete plan before moving to another country. And not just go by hollywood movies or some old bs saying.

Marriage doesn't guarantee a visa or green card anymore, to many people were pulling that scam. It would cost under $5,000 to move to the United States.

It used to be the time that US was one of the best countries to move to but after the inflation in 2008 and the changes in US with respect to policies, attacks on other religious people and few other variables. I am not bickering because I am from india ( and life here ain't that great like US) and here we have plenty of people who dream about going there but now I think of it, not a choice that I want to make for my life. I don't think US is the type of country which I can consider safe and better anymore. I personally think islands with population under 1k are much better for better life. Canada is cool but snow isn't for my taste and north america isn't safe from what I know, so surely some parts of EU are good IMO or asian city with low population.

Now that kind of restricts your choices!

Good luck getting internet access if you find such a place :)

ps. I immigrated to the US 16 years ago via a scholarship and stayed on after I graduated. US citizen now.

Thats only true for people that still have an emotional attachment to their native country. There's people out there that do not care where they came from, because its where they are now and where they will be that is more important.

Is it the actual forms that costs alot of money or is it using a lawyer instead of doing it yourself that is making it cost so high?

The US isn't doing so great right now. It's a long-term goal of mine to move outta here and I was born and raised here, unless some big changes come. I personally think you could do better in other countries at this time.

On the flipside I was born and raised here, and while right now I work in an offline business as well as do IM, I would love to live in another country if I could go virtual for the offline business. I have heard good things about Thailand!

Depending on your income sources countries that are doing worse may be better to make money then countries that are doing much better. And the U.S. is basically not a country its a mega country just like the EU is. Even when the majority of the U.S. is doing bad there will always be some cities that are doing much better then the rest of the country. When immigrating to either the EU or the US you have to look more at cities then countries.

When your in IM, you have to look at the Internet Speed+Apartment Prices+Tax rate of countries you are interested in moving to.

A lot of people seem to prefer Canada over the US, but Canada has really crappy weather. I could never do it.

Then again, I was born and raised in the US and still reside here.

Better luck somewhere else. Most American's would like to immigrate somewhere else. It is expensive here, Healthcare sucks, and education costs are through the roof!
