Has anyone gone from Hostgator's shared hosting to Hostgator's VPS hosting?

Just wondering how easy it is to go from shared hosting to VPS, and how quick the process is.

You should ask their support because they can do all this for you I'm sure.

Usually takes about 2 hours to setup a VPS. Depending how many sites you have they'll probably transfer them all across for free too.

Thx, I was considering them for a vps and may look elsewhere now

I changed to their VPS a month ago and its a disaster. Sites down every day and I am on support chat non stop. I am changing host again to wachahost this time.

Currently I run WP on HG's VPS Level 7 and its still dog slow. But don't get me wrong I have been with HG for a long time and there support is great!! HG told me they could transfer everything over from a VPS to a fully dedicated server for me for free. Do you run WP? I am just curious if HG can make a perfect transfer from a their VPS to a new dedicated server. WP is Very touchy, and if the transfer doesnt move everything just as it is now im screwed! Anyone ever do this before? (Not to hijack the thread but he maybe looking for this ? also.)
