Hell i'm hoping it can help pay my full tuition eventually, so i most likely would never drop it to do IM (and right now that would be stupid since i'm not even that successful yet.) but has anyone done that? or thinking about doing it?

Never drop out of school for IM unless you're already bringing a good amount of money CONSISTENTLY & STEADILY.

I dropped out for It a while back. I can tell you It wasn't worth It.

Sure, I was making more money than anyone I knew at the time, way more than a drop out should of been making. BUT, I am going to start going back to school now. I left behind many friends for the gold mine called the Internet (due to me not being relevant anymore I guess In the school world).

Stay In school, I know It's cliche, but It's cliche for a reason, It's good advice :)

If you really want to go to school for something that aids you In your online earnings, go for marketing. Hell, I have a bunch of classes near me that are specifically for Internet Marketing. I will be going back for probably Business, as I think It will further me In my current job.

Oh yea, I didn't drop out of anything pure academic wise, I dropped out of welding, even though I had a contact In a PMC group that needed more welders (pays great). I might go back for that, just so I have a fallback job that pays stupidly good. At that time though I didn't feel like being In different countries for 6 months at a time.

I'm not thinking of doing that, but I've had thoughts about what I would do if I were to become super successful. Like I said, i most likely wouldnt drop out but at times it would be tempting. but on the other hand, I wouldnt want wat i've completed to go to waste.

i've never even thought of taking marketing classes. I'm going to have to see if my school offers those courses.

I'm in university now and I'm planning on leaving when I can (i.e., when I'm making a steady amount of cash to live off of). The reason for this is because I really don't like going to school at all, and the program that I'm in won't lead to any job that I would enjoy doing. Frankly, I wouldn't want to do any job other than IM at the moment. Obviously not everyone thinks this way, but that's my situation.

Pretty sure to be an expert on this forum, Warrior noobs and Digital Pointless the requirement is to fail college. Failing high school probably gets you VIP status.

Forgot to ask, are we talking about High School or College? Either way you should stay In.

    Hi OP,

Your question definitely takes me back to the good old days when I was around your age and debating dropping out of college to start my own web design business (which I ended up doing).

Anyhow, personally from my own experience dropping out of school to pursue my own business in web design, seo and online marketing was perhaps the best decision I have ever made and have not looked back since! :)

Hope that helps my friend :)

    college

I don't like going at all either, but i'm paying for school out of my own pocket so idk if i'd want the fact that i'm throwing ALL of my money at school to go to waste. but yea, i totally understand. and what makes it worse is i'm just kind of settling on a major. what motivates me to keep going is....

i'll let you know when i figure that out :p

edit: oh im stupid. what motivates me to keep going.. I JUST SAID IT. the fact that im paying for it on my own and dont want that to go to waste. i know thats a bad reason but eh

IMHO if you need to gather money to keep paying your tuition, then yeah, I would do it too. But dropping out with no intent of going back is plainly irresponsible (Again, It's just my own opinion)

Unless you are very good at faking a smile while you say:

"Do you want fries with that?"

That's fair enough. The way I look at the lost money issue is that I'm cutting my losses by getting out early instead of continuing to pay for something that I don't want to do. I have lost money, that's true, but I don't want to lose any more and I certainly don't want to keep torturing myself by doing stuff that I hate doing which will lead to a job that I will also hate.

Why not do both? And if Internet Marketing starts bringing in more money than your targeted
career and school starts hurting your business then you can think about this decision.

You know how many people work in some place like McDonalds and go to school at the same time. Plenty!
And they have to get fussed at by some burger warrior everyday and keep a tight schedule.

Never drop out of school. IM is so unpredictable that you can't say what will happen tomorrow. Whatever you do in IM, you are dependent on other things like google, different advertising platforms, youtube and so on... All these things can beat you down to your foot whenever they want.

It is good to always have a backup/

If you quit school, what says you won't quit IM? Doesn't seem like a smart move. Life is never easy, but usually if you quit one thing it makes it easy for you to quit again, and again. Kind of a snowball effect.
