Hi I got expired domain few days ago and that domain have some high quality links that impossible to me get it easy .
I done 301 redirect to my new money site . the problem that domain are on completely different niche like you said Science>>Fitness .
most of anchor links use domain name e.g steven.com and the anchor is steven because domain was more bio like then niche like .
now could I benefit from this old links .and it's OK to make new backlinks using my niche anchor on that R301 domain .

I haven't done it, but it would technically just be the same as if you built the same links that was on the 301'd website to the redirected site.

I tried this experiment two times last month.

    1. One drop from #5 to #17 and 2 weeks later back to #9.
    2. Another Page dropped from #15 to #70 and stayed there.

So for me no more 301 redirects from totally unrelated domains. Instead i will use those expired domains as a part of my pbn.

Have done this several times, it depends very much on what links the domain has, sometimes it works pretty good and other times I have to stop it because the ranking get a slap.. the latter I believe at least so because when I do so the ranking claims again.

Non niche redirects work fine, as long as you research the domain real well.

Terrible idea, not Penguin friendly at all.

Those unrelated links become YOUR links. You are now considered spamming. Bad for long term SEO projects.

I wouldn't do this since it drops the page rank most of the time.

Not entirely true, as long as these are solid and clean 301 redirects, you should be fine as long as you aren't spamming the shit out of them.

    What.

You can do this successfully just don't go spamming it like crazy. With some trial and error this becomes very effective actually :)

Well yea, that's how you do 301 Redirects. It's nice to find a domain with strong niche relevant links, but not critical to succeed with them. I would say most people are just grabbing domains with solid links no matter what niche they are in.

It's important to note that 301's take time to propagate. Hopefully you guys that are reporting "google slap" aren't not giving the redirects enough time to work their way through. Artificial drop in rank happens most of the time when you get new links and 301's are not different. 2-4 weeks is what you need to give them to see final results. If rank is still down after that, then there are issues and you can consider turning them off, but certainly wait out that period.

"Not Penguin Friendly" .... well, blackhat seo is not meant to be very Penguin friendly :) If this is a long term/whitehat/business site/authority project, yada yada, then probably blackhat redirects are not the sort of thing you should be looking into anyway.

I think it can help increase domain authority but not necessarily bring about an improvement in ranking.

I did that to a 6 month old site, I re-directed 2 domains with some great links from entrepreneur etc, and I also did another that had back links from a goverment site of my country, Before I did It all my keywords were in page 4 or 5 now they are in page 2 (in like 3 or 4 weeks) but also what I did is that I spammed the authority site with my anchors, so far is working, now I will spam the money site just to see what will happen.

That's what I did , but until now I see no improvements at all .
If domain authority increased I won't ask for anything more I can do rest very easy .

Maybe the expired domain just isn't powerful enough to boost your money site. What's the CF, TF, and DA of the domain?

DA 23 CF 31 , TF 16 , . BTW i bought new link to that domain from some old authority site I don't know if it will improve it or not .
In other hand I got new expired domain linked from Gov sites but it has CF 5 and TF 5 DA =15 while openlinkprofiler give me Link Influence Score: 42%

I'm guessing the first metrics you mentioned are for your money site (DA 23...) and the others are for the expired domain (DA 15..). If that's the case, I was right. The expired domain just isn't powerful enough to effect any boost in your rankings.
