Okay... other than WHAT THE FUCK? nothing comes to my mind after finding a chain of .edu sites that rank for extremely competitive casino keywords. So... we start off with this: http://mit.edu/ - allright, nothing fancy here, looks all good right? Moving on to this: http://epo.mit.edu/ - okay... looks legit I'll buy that. Now we go here: http://epo.mit.edu/moodle/ - hmmm.. no links to here from any of the main sites, but ok! Looks like some relevant school related content right? Okay... Finally, the WHAT THE FUCK part: http://epo.mit.edu/moodle/group/groupui/.add/12/ Anyone shine some light on this???? TONS of anchors to dominate highly competitive niche... any link leads to a page like http://epo.mit.edu/moodle/group/groupui/.add/12/Casino-Slots.html that advertises a $200 bonus for playing at Casino.com ... the contents of the page obviously NOT READABLE and are clearly NOT MEANT to be seen by real visitors. Now checking out Casino.com ... over 1000 .edu links and what do you know they're quite similar to the above case! Looks like they've got quite a strategy to dominating the web!?
I guess that's the advantage of being a blackhatter at a college where you have some webspace on their site.
Moodle is basically a university social network. You can write blogs etc, on mit's version you can make groups i guess. Either someone hacked into an MIT students account, or an MIT student did it, or the admin did it. If the admin didnt plant those links, then they arent attentive enough, which is probably the situation because our stream/moodle admins are non existant... Maybe i can sell .ac.nz links EDIT: Haha, i found a personal bookmarking section in webct! webct is like moodle but is old and being used less, so even less chance of admin spotting links... anyways they wouldnt know what blackhat seo is. Unlimited .ac.nz links is <3
Okay that kind of explains it... but i'm finding such a massive chain of sites like this that are quite similar, so there is no way students are doing it...
These sites are gold if you can find them. I've collected several .edu sites which allow you to add your own pages at will without even registering. However, bear in mind that it may take some time for google to find these pages.
Try googleing "# Fill out the New Account form with your details." You'll get a list of moodle websites (can filter for .edu by adding site: .edu) on which you can sign up and do whatever. allinurl: "moodle/login/signup.php"
Yep, as one poster said, Moodle is an educational social network. My college uses it for the online classes. If you're registered on it, you can pretty much post whatever you want.
the last link the Op has given is redirecting to Code: hxxp://www.topcasino10.com/search.php?aid=66666&q=online+casino&said=11-11cas2
Im sure there are hundreds of universitys round the world that offer a service like this. Anyone have a holy grail list and some way of administering it all! Imagine a giant .edu blogfarm that you could update at will
So if we do find one of these treasures, should we ping the page, or just let G find it slowly and naturally?
I've found a few like this one Code: https://moodle.bath.ac.uk/login/index.php but I don't see the option to register....
google: inurl:.edu inurl:moodle/login/signup.php will get you 11k edu results. someone give it a shot and see if you can post.
Eh... Looks like for all the ones that I tried you need a "instructors key". Hmm.. I wonder who can come up with a generic fake email address that goes: Dear Professor, I lost my key to your CSI 133 class. Is there any way that you can send it to me please? -John (gotta have at least 1 kid in the class named John right? Lol.
I tried registering as well but couldnt do anything after i registered. We might have to look for a different strategy on getting edu links.
