Sorry if this is the "wrong section"

But I have a few things to get off my chest.

I think the situation of a great deal of the internet marketing done today is BS. And I see it happening in all forms. CPA, Blogging, You name it , its there.

Let me explain WHAT I am talking about.

Say you buy a e-book under the pretense it will teach you how to market something online. Well the only thing it is, is a guide on how to sell e-books online about how to make money online. And those books are about how to sell X service online and that service is a seminar, video set, guide on how to use blogs to make money online. Well the make money blogging service is just.......well ....start reading at the top of this paragraph.

I think this is why most internet marketers get a bad rep as "spammers"

I have had my friends tell me (as a joke) "dont you have some pop ups to make or something"

Sense when did IM become this pyramid like, circular funnel of BS that everyone buys into but few do.

Seldom do I see market research, roi projecting, or any other marketing 101 basics used in formulating a plan to make money online.

I don't want to see what IM will be in 20 years.

Probably exactly the same as now only with a whole new generation of suckers buying the same ebooks.

Another beef I have is the serious lack of case studies. But maybe im the more traditional marketing type

Ever since the first person decided to use the term marketing!! Frankly what do people understand about marketing forget IM just plain and simple the term marketing.

You have to got to try and say you are a Marketer in social places, if people are gentle you'll hear "Oh! You're one of them!", in 5 decades people have still not understood that advertising is a small part of marketing, and not all of it!

Any you expect people to understand whats IM? And seriously whom am I kidding, we love pop-ups just not on our own screens!

    Cheers!!

A lot of fantastic ebooks out there but everyday more craps are coming into IM and screwing it up. Guess worst things are yet to come.

Good thing you took all this out from your chest and shared something that all of us (IMs) need to worry about.

And my two cents on ebook marketing? It's not the same as advertising which a lot of people think is one and the same. No, a lot of that eBull people buy is just like tshirts. I know a lot of the suppliers who provide for Primark to Versace and you know the difference between that £2 and £60 tshirt? A silly 2 cent print that says Versace! It's the same Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani factories that lunp up all those standard clothes and shirts you see. But why will people pay £60 for a tshirt with a tag but not the same tshirt for £2 without the tag? Simple advertising. In terms of books your looking at guys like Joe Sugarman and Donald Trump who you know have success so will pay more for books by them but for wannabes it's a case of sell those £2 tshirts until you've a nice little crock of gold which you'll use to prove that yoy've been successful and deserve to be with the big boys.

There is no such thing as absolute marketing and blatant advertising rarely works, remember these two things and you'll save yourself a lot of money and time...

    Dude,
A Versace is way more comfortable than the random Primark.
