Out of 500 mobile visitors 250ish have been using a kindle. This is through Adwords and it's really annoying me because I'm sure they're not going to convert at all. Does anyone else experience this? It's through Display ads not Search ads.

Adwords + Mobile is a big disaster. 10%-15% of clicks they charge you will never make their way to your LP, there are lots of connectivity issues with mobile (users are lost in the way but you still pay for the clicks), and on top of that, your mobile-adjusted LP must load super fast.

And these are just the least of problems of Mobile Marketing. Check this out to better understand the Mobile issues:

Just this week I spend around 200 bucks for testing a mobile campaign for a mobile optimized eCommerce site with no sales.. While it's another point of argue that only traffic is not the factor a lot other things are too but if the same sites do fairly well over other traffic (from desktops) i have a good reason to believe that mobile traffic is not good at lease for direct response..

Coming back to your case, You should go to your campaign settings and "devices" section and decrease the bid by 100% for mobile devices with full browsers. Unfortunately for now you have no way to Exclude tablets ( I don;'t know whether Kindle is treated like a tablet or phone :) ..

Yea, I ended up putting it to 99% decrease but I wasn't sure if that's the correct way to do it. I don't want any mobile visitors at all. I guess I'll live with Tablets. I think I can turn those off by specifying what OS system the use. Somewhere in the settings I remember seeing it.
