2013 was an interesting year for me with good and bad things that happened.
Quick bio:
I have been web developing for about 9 years, mostly for fun and profits. I have been earning decent from freelancing, not too much but I was satisfied as a kid (from 4k $ per year up to 17k $ from freelancing). I always wanted not to depend on anyone else, maybe it was selfish, but that's what kept me motivated to want even more.
In 2013 for the first time I had the chance to work full time for a mid size company, everything was ok (friendly people, good salary, etc) but I had to quit my job because i felt i was running out of time and I was sure I could do more. I'm also in college, kind of messed up in there
due to my work.
Goal:
My plan for 2014 is to reach 500k $ from multiple sources of passive (or almost passive) income. This thread is to keep me motivated plus to motivate others. I see plenty of people wasting their time, specially youngsters like me( in their 20's ) and I really feel that they are going blind with their life.
My income right now:
Long term investment, making about 30k $/month from transactions ( something like forex... ), but it's really volatile. Last month I lost 16k $ in just one night so you could get my point.
Testing another source right now:
Day 1: Deposited 4k somewhere and i want to get 3% - 5% / month from interest rate.
I like to develop things so I was thinking at a few things i might try this year:
- public proxy scraper
- web scraper ( like moz/ahrefs/semrush )
- vps/server provider ( it's harder with automation, plus plenty of time required for support )
- certificates of deposit ( bigger interest rates than banks )
- currency exchange ( investigating all the legal paper work that has to be done )
- encoding algorithm into images ( hobby of mine )
- compression algorithm using pi ( hobby )
Last 2 ideas are just for fun, and probably won't even make more than 50$ each
. After all it's not just about working is about having some fun as well.
Still thinking and investigating new ways to cash out, i'm not really into affiliation, I like to be the one with products who cashes in.
Any questions and suggestions are welcomed!
