"If people aren't providing budgets when they post in HAF, they should be reported and deleted as this is one of the rules" https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/hire-a-freelancer-budget-option.1334911/post-14422559

Yet rules say otherwise;
Anyone can currently post a Hire a Freelancer thread. For the best results make sure you make it very clear what exactly it is you're looking for and what you are willing to pay to get the task completed. Whilst not required, stating a budget and/or wage in your thread (e.g., $30/hour for a wage, $1500 for a project) is highly recommended to avoid time-wasters and to find freelancers you can afford faster.

I think the intent here is to let people negotiate terms for themselves. BHW doesn't want to get in the way of that process, hence the confusing standard.

Even if the exact budget is not specified, it's better to have a budget range to understand the requirements better. $50-$250 is always better than 0-.

Replying to closed thread about HAF budget

This is fine, but not really necessary.

Those serious HAF posters will provide all the details.

Those less serious, less, and so on, until those who will attempt to scam via HAF.

This could work opposite in advance to Jr Vips, because, seeing not very clean or detailed OP could lead to move on, and less time spent.

Just saying the budget, even by force, is not really helping anything IMO.
There is a report button that can be used to alert mod to make seller add the price or remove thread.

Make a seller? There is no rule being broken saying a BUYER needs to add a budget. It is but a mere suggestion...
