Hello guys. I need some advice here:

I have been working on a money site, but I have been having an overload of my hosting resources (which is not possible since the site has 40 pages and no visits yet). So, trying to figure out what was causing the problem, I discover that one of my sites in this same hosting account (godaddy shared hosting), has changed its name to "hacked by PKK team...". So I guess my site was hacked. Now I am really afraid that this might be the cause of my resource problem, and that my moneysite could in risk. I delete the whole WP installation of that site, but I am still worried about having malicious files. I am really thinking into changing to another hosting provider, but that is really a lot of work, since I have severalls sites with Godaddys hosting.

So, what do u think I should do? Is it safe to stay with that same hosting account?

    Thanks in advance!

Check for shells installed into your hosting files. Make sure you do not have any key loggers on your machines. Change your passwords on all your accounts and use a system like KeePass to ensure that you have strong passwords.

If its a money site then I say get a VPS and then the security of your own sites is in your own hands. Any shared account on a server could be compromised and then the attacker could have control over everything on that box.

As others have said, get away from Godaddy, as fast as you can!

You are not the first his has happened to and won't be the last!

It depends on what you want, what specs do you want on the account, where do you want it located etc?
If you have a hacked site, don't forget to check the backup you create from the current site - make sure nothing has been dropped in or hacked so whoever it is can get back on the box (or whatever box you are on)

get more security, change your hosting account details, hire someone to find loopholes on your site .
