According to a tweet by SeoMoz GWT has been sending out warning about article marketing.

If this is true it looks like google is really stepping up the game and launching an all out assault.

Has anybody had one of these warnings? And what do you think this means if it's true?

I got no message about article marketing, but thanks heaps because I did find a message about some dirty hacker getting into one of my sites. I can't remember the last time I opened GWT, and wouldn't have had any reason to other than this - so thanks again

If you follow rand fishkin CEO of seomoz, he tweeted it this morning?

I think it's now going to be easier to lower the rank of all your competitors rather than increase your own rank

Makes sense for Google to penalize unreadable spam content. I dont think this is happening to this extent because a) if u scrape an article, it might be shit as a whole, but be relevant on sentance levels. I dont think Google is able to read a whole article and assess if it makes human relevant sense.
    b) u could easily just take a shitty article, post it to a lot directories...with your competitors links
    c) I cant find any link saying that ppl are getting these notifications. They get them because of too high of a link building rate, but not because articles are of bad quality

Okay, if this tweet is true, then Google is reacting because article marketing is bypassing some filter of their algo. So it works.

Then, just spread the articles over different tiers of links.

The tweet is real. From your hint, I've found his tweet. Seem like this google monster just cannot leave the struggling Webmasters alone.

I'm gonna smash my Android now and buy an Iphone. I dont want any of their stupid products anymore. Enough!!!
