They are online classified ad sites that, for the most part, do not charge you to post an ad. There are usually sections in each one that -DO- cost money to post in, like the Real Estate/Rentals section and the Employment sections, but for the most part the sites are free to use. There are several other threads similar to this one on the forum, just do a search for Craig.slist.

Gum*tree allows you to use vids in ur ads, Kijiji is like a scaled down version of Craig*slist, tho it is much better in usage for Can*ada and UK.

I was able to leave some ads up on Kij*iji for about 2 months. Gum*tree and Kij*iji don't have as many of the ad nazis/flag posse/whatevuh other names u want to call them, and ur ads stay up much longer than on Craigs.

I haven't tried Kijiji, but Gum.tree is getting to be about as bad as Craig.slist IMO. They're becoming flag happy mofos over there, too.

Those ba@tards! lol. I haven't played with Gum*tree since around December. Was MUCH easier than. Kij*iji is much easier to post on, tho it is a bit strange (i.e. u can get posts up faster in certain regions than in others) in its branching structure. Takes a few minutes to get the hold of.

There are many, many other classifieds sites other than just those 3. There's a list of them somewhere on this forum, just do a title search for Craigslist and I'm sure you'll find it.

Awesome EC. What is the proper definition/classification of sites such as those anyhow? Ya, I did have a few other classified sites I have used for some *experiments*, though I don't recall what to call them outside of 'classifieds'. Maybe that is the only word for them.

There was an old method used (it has some issues with traffic quality) that really takes advantage of these types of sites. It was referred to as 'classifieds', tho that can give u so much crap in search results.

I threw one of those "girls looking for guys then toss them affiliate links" ad's on Gum.tree and got 100+ responses in around 30 minutes.

Then it got flagged 10 minutes later. I'm assuming that affiliate marketing on craigslist and gumtree is only going to get harder.

@OA - I just refer to them as "classified ads". And try doing a title-only search on the forum under advanced search options. It will narrow things down for you.

@Smitty - You assumed correctly, it's definitely getting harder. The key is to branch out away from those 3 main classifieds sites and use some of the smaller sites. IMO, the larger the site is, the more difficult it will be to keep your ads up. There are usually some classified sites out there made specifically for your local communities that can get nice amounts of traffic. All you have to do is type in something like "Miami da.ting classifieds" into google and see what pops up. Just switch around the cities. Hell, your city's newspaper might even have free classifieds online.. Granted, you can't use your old automated craig.slist software with them, but that's what outsourcing is for ;)

This tactic is worn out...sorry. Gum tree has like, nobody on it and Craigs will get flagged in no time. Besides, 90% of your emails with your link will get picked up by a spam filter, especially if the recip is on gmail or yahoo as most are, and the other 10% will be seen by dudes who have seen this a thousand times before. Keep this in mind, any horny dude on craigs who replies to YOUR ad has already been slammed with this tactic on every OTHER ad he replied to. Sorry, but I've been doing dating shit for a long time and this is something that might get you a few pennies, nothing more.

Ha, well I wouldn't say Gum tree has nobody on it. London has crazy traffic, I got a shit load of responses in under 30 minutes. I also made near 100 bucks off those 100 people. So I wouldn't say it's all bad, I think some creativity is in order like essential said.

If my add nets me 100 bucks in 30 minutes and is flagged right after, I don't care just as long as it's up for that 30 minutes.

Sure, it's getting bad and this is probably just a temporary short time money maker. However this is funding for some other projects I'm working on. I have to disagree with a few pennies, granted it won't make you thousands.

    Good input though..

    Gracias.

That's a pretty good list, just start with that and use the advice given above.

There is no one program out there that will automate the whole process for all of the above sites, at least not available to the public. Most programs are built specifically for one site, and about 99% of them are built for craigslist. I'd say the best CL tool is Easy .Ad. Suite. Deluxe. It's available here on the forum somewhere.

Like I said, read the advice above, and don't be disappointed when your ads get ghosted/flagged/removed. There are easier ways to make money than classified ads.
