well ... depends what you can call '' ok '' , practically UIGEA isn't makes the gambling illegal in us , makes illegal only the transactions to be carried by us banks ... is something like this ... you are free to do whatever you wanna , but you aren't allow to pay for gambling :) .... or atleast some of the banks aren't allow you to do this ... anyway for ages large porker/gambling sites ( see case of pokerstars /fulltilt and absolutepoker and other small ones like merge network ) managed to keep their players at the tables avoiding this transactions , practically they opened large networks of fake merchants legal in united states , charging peoples cards on this fake merchants ... practically peoples was paying for groceries / sport tickets and other crap like this totally legal lol ... for official paperwork's of course , in reality peoples just paid for getting founds on gambling networks ...

See ... gambling / betting wasn't never a '' clear business '' ... not now , not 5-10 years ago ... since ever , into this market was some shady things and practices ... it's normal where are large amounts of money on the game ...

I'm a member at Betfair. I wrote a post about my gambling habits on my blog, Sofa Moolah. Basically I lost 5 figures in a day. Yeah, I don't gamble online anymore.

yeah most of them are legit, but due to the recent things that have been happening with online gaming in the us, there are certain restrictions. cake poker for example.. they allow usa players but now for some reason u need at least 500$ to cashout for a check... so if u have 400... keep playing til u hit 500.. and if u lose the 400.. ur screwed. no guarantees there. also ive read up on alot of ppl getting their checks from cake poker and they bounce 2 days after putting it in their bank. just watch out who u play for.. bodog is one good site and been around for like a decade now.. do some research and see the success stories on ppl who have cashed out and actually gotten money in hand. a 600% deposit bonus would be sweet lol but the question is if ur ever gna see that money. there are some good sites, theres some bad. google it :D

Betting isn't a long term option of earning money unless you have a really really good ability to predict the correct outcomes. I have lost some money (not much a few thousand) and so have the other 99% of the gamblers.

Try to focus on something which is more long term in nature.

The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 makes it a crime for offshore gambling businesses (casinos, sportsbooks, etc) to accept the funding to your account and financial institutions (banks, wire transfers, etc) are required by law to report such activity.

In addition, certain States also have regulations regarding online gambling. If you still interested, you can read the descriptions of the laws here:

    Code:
    http://www.gambling-law-us.com/
Basically - if you were to pursue this, you would be sending your money to a foreign company that is committing a crime is the USA and in an unregulated industry were you have no legal recourse to obtain, withdraw, or collect your money if you have a problem, winnings, or just want a different book.

Also, the ratio of risk to consumers using offshore books is very high. Be sure to check reviews of the books you are thinking of:

    Code:
    http://www.sportsbookreview.com/ratings+on+over+400+sportsbooks+/
You might be better off finding a local to take your action.

    Good Luck ;)
