Just thought I'd put a post out that there needs to be a serious clampdown on newbie posting privelages. Just in the past few weeks I've watched newbie after newbie coming onto this forum trying to tear down companies or defame individuals on the forum. Mainly because these newbies are actually banned ex-members who have a bone to pick.

I'm starting to wonder who the hell I can trust on here, and I know this is a blackhat forum but there is still a community here of decent peeps out to help each other. Can we maybe put some sort of cap on newbie posting ie like guest posting where all posts have to be modded for the first 3 weeks etc.

I'd like to become a mod if poss also. I love this forum :)

Another annoying thing of this forum are such senseless posts like the one above.

I am a newbie and to a certain extent I agree with you, What I would like to see is of a way that we can try to control the services section a little more, somwwhat of a quality control, what I mean by this is that I have tried hiring for different service provider using BHW on the services section none who have performed the services or have performed the correctly thus far. I have exrensive knowledge in hiring and managing people onoine for my business and decided to go ahead and use the servicess ection but I have not found any real reliable people thus far any opinions from anyone?

These are my thoughts exactly. I was doing the same exact thing initially reading all day and not doing anything. Now I check here a couple times a day. I'm not making much but I am finally earning something. I look forward to the day when I'm not trying to increase my pay scale but I'm guessing I'll be in the grave before I'm ever satisfied. If we aren't working towards something then whats the point.

Something definitely needs to be done as the quality of this great forum is declining fast with all of these useless threads.

PS - Please move to forum suggestions ;)

I can assure everyone that something is going to be done. The staff has been talking about exactly what to do for the past few days. I'm closing threads that are problems and addressing issues as they are presented.

I agree with the OP's thread. And I try to stay logged in to BHW most of the time but I rarely have time to post.

It takes awhile for noobs to understand how things work here. And it is important to know that we have many young teens here - some of whom are extremely intelligent and savvy for their age (think "Lemonarian", who is the author of the famous "LinkWheel". He's ony 15 years old!). And some who are mentally "children" and act like it too.

Needless to say (but I will anyway), it is difficult to seperate the Gems from the Germs. In a forum of the size that BHW has become, you can always expect that there will be the Good, Bad, and Ugly. It's a difficult call because if too many restrictions are imposed, we may lose some potentially valuable members.

I often get PM's from individuals who are obviously very young and immature. And sometimes they ask obvious questions that could easily be solved by doing a forum search or a Google search. But I still exercise patience with them and try to gently guide them without making them feel inferior.

As far as negative, destructive posts from noobs, the experienced, rational members of BHW need to present themselves as good examples for them to follow. If you just push the kids into a hole and say "Shut up, you little shithead!", then you aren't contributing anything either.

I personally don't agree with the concept of "exclusion". I do, however, believe in patience and compassion and inclusion. I think it's the senior members' responsibility to be an inspiration to the noobs, and not an impatient "L33t".

Just my take on this subject . . .

There is an old Zen Proverb that says, "It is better to wear soft shoes than to try to carpet the world".

    Cheers! - "Wiz"

As the forum gets bigger and bigger its going to get worse. Its extremely hard to moderate a big forum.

I like to see this place clean - Noobs want to earn fast without learning - it's natural - but some threads and posts are obscene

crazyjeff, nail on the head mate. My points exactly. Sounds kinda cruel but I do believe that if people want to be a fully fledged member here they need to earn it. Perhaps they can only read for the first 2 weeks they join unless they donate or somethin along those lines. Just most newbies won't last 2 weeks. The ones who will are the ones who deserve to be posting on here.

    And thats supposed to mean?

I am under 20 years old and I probably make 10x more than you. Think before you speak, young people are taking over everything lately, even IM (just look at all the internet marketers that are making millions, they are usually 25 or so and the number decreases every time a new site pops up)

Yeah Jacks with all due respect to tek I don't think he was meaning to generalise there I think it's just assumed that most teenagers are immature. I find it ironic that these days it seems more about face with the odd exceptions lol
