I have one HDMI slot in my laptop (DELL) which i have connected to a external monitor. No VGA slots.

I want to add one more monitor (Extend Not Duplicate screen) .

How do i go on about it??

I read that USB to VGA doesn't work and Vga Splitter duplicates the screen.

Any help would be appreciated thanks...

There definitely a way. I've seen it before. Hopefully someone will chime in.

nope, the splitter will give you two screens..... that's how I did mine and I have 3 hooked up. it gives you options in the settings if you want 1 shared or master and backup

Thanks for the reply..
Could you please name the splitter which you are using..

You can buy a HDMI to VGA convertor and then plug it in the monitor slot. Been using it since past 3 yrs.

Check out on amazon or newegg

it's just a generic splitter, you can get them on Amazon for cheap. I am using a desktop, for a laptop, you may want to look at something like this https://www.yourslide.com/

thats controlled by a usb port only, you may want to look at other makes and models as im not sure about the one i posted it was more of an example

Beware about the generic ones. They are not good in terms of signal quality. They pick up electrical interferences and you will get occasional flickers. I had to buy a good one after trying the generic one..

Yes what the underachiever is talking about is what I have seen in the past. Check it out OP. I've seen people using the less fancy ones.

You can buy a dock for your laptop. It will be more costly but you will have a lot more ports.
