True show of character here. I really applaud the guy for doing this. He obviously is in a situation where money is no object so he did the best thing with it.

Mad props to you bro. *Fistbump*

If I won $40m I would give $1m to charity and share the rest with my family.

He will probably receive a 1kk+ tax return.

    But still, good move.

He will be bless soon.. he have a kind hearted.. I like the way he did.. TO be honest its difficult to do that. you give all your winning thru charity. man its hard.. maybe a 50 percent of it but the 100 percent is kind of difficult but for that guy i will raise my two hands and bow to him

I would have built my own charities. I don't trust too many of those presidents of charities.

I'm from Canada. Got a problem with us Canadians?

I live about a 5 hour drive from the guy. If I won that much in the lottery, the first thing that I'd do is change my phone number because every charity known to man would be trying to call me.

Sounds like a good hearted fella, who doesnt know how to effectively spend his money on helping people with cancer.

I would rather invest in a private cancer research, than donate it to the charity. Charity is like a black hole - everything you put in disappears.

I would have considered giving $35 million away, putting about $3 million into a tax-free security to live off 4-5% interest, $1 million into buying 2-3 modest houses all-cash, and the remaining $1 million in gold/silver and Bitcoin. The Bitcoin may well grow in value to another $40 million over the long term.

To the guys who are saying he did wrong.

You wouldn't be satisfied even with all the riches in the world. There would be something lacking in the long run. You may feel good, but that is just for a while. This guy did what was best for him. No offense. He is probably happier than ever that he donated it to charity :')

    Merry Christmas everyone!
