So you want to get better at sales eh? Well look no further, the answer is here.

Ask yourself this,

What do the best salespeople have in common?
Here are the TOP 5 ESSENTIAL attributes that most of the best salespeople have:

1. Confidence in success

The best sellers have a very strong belief in:
  1. Themselves.
  2. Their products or services.
  3. The company they represent.
And just in that order! The energy that a strong belief in oneself and one's products or services gives influences both the salesperson and the customer. A strong conviction rubs off on the customer to want to buy.

How strong is your confidence in success on a scale?

  • Clear activity targets that allow them to work with their customers in the most effective way.
  • Written down their goals and have them visible. They let their goals guide how they prioritize in their daily lives and follow up on their sales efforts.
Are you letting your sales goals drive your priorities?

3. Energy
The best sellers keep their energy levels high and steady. They know that it takes a lot of energy to execute their plan and create a positive energy in themselves, their customers, suppliers and colleagues. How do they do it?

  • The best salespeople have a positive mental attitude. They see opportunities (where others see difficulties) and are genuinely happy and positive.
  • They think about what they want to happen and practice going into their best sales state.
  • They move like winners with good posture and open and positive body language.
  • They provide the right energy and in the right quantity in terms of sleep, food, drink, exercise, and affirmation. They also have a work-life balance.

The best sellers have well-developed entrepreneurial skills when it comes to:

  • Putting themselves in the customer's shoes.
  • Develop the business and find new business opportunities with both existing and new customers.
  • Think differently, find other angles and adjust when the market changes.
  • Thinking big and not being limited by what is or is not possible.
  • Influencing the product. They understand what is relevant to the customer and how the product will evolve for the future

Top sellers are good at managing themselves and driving their projects to completion. They keep their promises and make things happen. Their customers know that, of course.

What will it take for your customers to feel that you make things happen faster than they do today?

I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes.

Pretty easy to do when you have trust in what you offer. If what you offer is going to be an asset to someone else’s biz, you don’t have to worry about selling anything.

The most critical aspect for selling is product knowledge.
Other aspects also do matter nonetheless.

Yes, but it all must come from you and unless you’ve got yourself in check its going to be a lot more difficult than it needs to be.

Knowledge, understanding, and experience are vital too but a strong belief along with them will convince customers much easier rather and will show in your energy. Note this is mostly shown in person or in calls with clients, maybe not as much in IM where knowledge, understanding, and experience brings more to the table :)

For me I've made it pretty much easy. My marketing is done by (through) Google Ads, my sales is done by (at) my website. And I always have my ad campaigns and websites "in check"

My guess is that your Google Ads campaigns at least need a little bit of research in order to know what your customers search for? This guide is mostly for in person or calls with clients. However maybe some of it is helpful for optimizing sales in a website as well, how would you answer the last two questions in the main post? I feel they’re most relevant in this case :)

Nice share. I would add your ability to handle rejection which would fall into tenacity as well.

Have you heard about the "Challenger Salesman"? from the book the Challenger Sale.

Author used a lot of studies and experiments to show that challengers perform better in average. They are not afraid to use common sense to challenge their prospects, and debate with them. If its done in a way that doesn't belittle them or show arrogance, it's really effective. So to be that I would add Critical thinking, and Empathy as you need to understand the person pain points to talk about them and challenge them about their issue before offering their solution.
