Hey everyone, this is my first guide so please bear with me. I decided to contribute a little in exchange for the help I've gotten here. :) I'm going to explain everything as simple as I can. This guide will show you how to increase your SERP click through rate using rich snippets, it's really easy.

    1. Create a Google+ page. Select the category that fits you the best, I used Company, Institution, or Organization.

    2. Follow the creation wizard, make sure you fill in your website URL on step 2!

    3. Once reached step 3 add your website's logo, this will help increase your CTR. How more noticeable the logo, the better the CTR.

    4. Complete setting up your page, fill in description etc. if you feel like it. It is not required.
    5. Now take a look at your URL, and copy the digits behind plus.google.com.
    6. Replace "idhere" on the code below with the digits you just copied. And replace "namehere" with the name of your company or something else.
    Code:
    <a href="https://plus.google.com/idhere?rel=author">namehere</a>
    Example
    Code:
     <a href="https://plus.google.com/109412257237874861202?rel=author">Matt Cutts</a>
    7. Copy the whole code you just made above and paste it on a place which loads on every page of your website. I used my footer.
    8. Once placed go to http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets, fill in your domain and click preview.
    9. If everything went well you will see your domain with a Google+ snippet beneath it.

    10. You're done! Now wait for Google to recrawl your webpage and it should be added to your SERP.

If you run into problems, you can check out Google's page about it here & here. There are a lot more rich snippets to be used depending on your niche, so try them out! I'm also waiting for Google to crawl my website again so it will appear in the SERPs.

    Thanks for reading! Enjoy!
