Yesterday I was browsing around in the game development industry niche.
And then I stumbled upon a bunch of forums/sites/blogs which primarily focus on indie developers (solo game designers/developers).

Some subsections have a "help wanted" type of job listings, freelancing gigs and even contracted company positions. Here's an example: http://forums.indiegamer.com/forums/help-wanted-paid-only.15/

In my opinion, anyone who's looking to make some good money and has the technical skills (designer, programmer, ...) can land some great deals out of this.
Freelancing sites such as Freelancer.com and Fiverr.com are oversaturated nowadays, thus some creativity is required from freelancers to stay in business.

My advice to all newbies is: dig deeper into niche sites, don't just hang around on sites such as Freelancer which are too crowded. You might have a better work/life balance if you find better jobs by working with some new and nice people.

Have fun & make money! :)

I see this as a good way to arbitrage via forums.
