[GUIDE] How many links per day, week or month should I build?

I think people give google too much credit here for detecting an unnatural link velocity when it's attributable to more obvious problems in the link profile. It's not unusual for local business sites to get a flurry of links when they appear in the news and see an improvement in ranking, despite breaking rules around link velocity. Often new businesses build a bunch of citations with links quickly but do not get blasted back to page ten.

IMO bad link building screws up the link profile, which tends to happen with unnatural waves of new links rather than the link velocity itself causing problems. People who are patient and consistently build good links tend to make good choices of links to acquire and how to fit them into the overall link profile of the site. Bad link building usually involves many bad decisions like low quality links, poor choices of keywords, bad content around the link, etc. Ten bad links will hurt a site whether they all appear on the same day or over the course of two months.

I have a new website which is 3 months old now. My backlink strategy is high quality guest posts, bought now 3 in total, the first guest post did very well to my ranking on my website. I posted it 2 months ago. Effects came after 1 month. The second link is 10 days old and my third is 3 days. I am very careful with building links and starting off slow, it's also quite expensive, like 100-200 euro per post. My site is in Dutch so I'm targeting The Netherlands. What do you think/and others in this forum post of this approach?
I think it's very safe and sustainable strategy. Maybe even too safe.

I also found that tools do not report accurate data. This is because they do not have updated data
That might be true but it's the best thing we got beside tracking ourselves (which we can't).

That's where link sources come in.

For example quality press release is OK. It naturally creates hundreds of links.

But if for example a small business website with 50 links total gets another 50 homepage links (PBN) than chance of an issue goes up dramatically.

I got rank my 13 website this year. I don't nkow what others doing but I am alwyas follow this step.
1. When I am launching my new domain, I create some social signals and some foundation links like comments, pdf, submission like 15-20 each day for 1st month.
2. 2nd month I am start to crete web 2.0 backlinks like 10 a day.
3. 3rd month If I see some ranking signal I am start to take guest post like 2 per week (depend on budget and quality)
4. after get on of my keyords on 1st page I am try to start build a big size like 100+ a day.

How do you build such amount of links? RankerX (or a similar tool) or do you buy from some seo services?

Amazing guide and I would rate it as a must read. Thank you, OP.

That seems like unnecessarily large amount of links.

Important thing to note here is that if they are software based, their index rate will be low.

On paper you are building hundreds of links but only fraction gets recognized and count.

Glad you found it useful. :)

Great tips.
I have some questions about link velocity, is it safe if I post 1 quality guest post link or 1 quality niche editor link every 1 or 2 days? Or is it recommended to release 1 every 3 days?
No!

Try to randomize it. You should not have a fixed schedule, say 1 link daily, you will easily be tracked....... try to make it natural. And, don't do only guest post, try to have a mixture of as many link sources as possible.....

Couldn't agree more.

Nice one, thanks for dropping this
Glad you like it.

A really well-written guide, thanks for writing all this.
I always sucked at link-building so this guide will help me get the right idea around it
Happy to help. : )
