Well shit... guess who I was trying to hide from?

I should probably start registering domains for a PBN from google, after all they do offer free WhoIs protection.

I like them too, but you have to pay VAT if you live in Europe.

It's competition at least, 99% of the e-simpletons won't care that it's google. Hopefully it will drive down prices for the other competing privacy providers.

I don't think the cheap ones make much money from registering domains. I believe hosting is actually the one profitable, $10/year for a domain doesn't sound like much profit to me.

Yeah registering is cheap, $2 - $4, but privacy (goaddy) is $8/year for not doing a whole lot. I would imagine the privacy costs them near nothing, it's probably near 90%+ profit on that $8. Forwarding some documents over to your home when you get a DMCA or C&D would probably be the most expensive part.

Yeah, if you ever feel the need to talk to them about indexing some blasted links/domains.

You guys really think google would use that information against you? C'mon guys, we all know they are a fair a just company...

I feel safe now. If they don't mind, I'll just take my $415 million and leave.

I really like the service from namecheap. If you buy a domain you get it for free.

Name.com also has a coupon for free privacy which can be applied at renewal of the domain too

My vote goes to namesilo and internetbs, they both have free WhoIs protection for life. Only downside of InternetBS is that you have to pay VAT if you live in Europe.
