What can I expect... and what I can and can't do?
What did the C&D letter tell what they want you to do? To get any real advice on this matter you must be more specific. I've dealt with C&Ds on a number of issues and have some experience in the matter. This may be one of those things that you can ignore or it could be serious but without more info.......
Make sure it's legit and not a stupid scam.
Once you verify it, I'd suggest stop doing what you're doing.
Basically giving you a warning to stop what you're doing OR they'll put you through court...And to tell you from experience: That's LENGTHY and very COSTLY.
Not if they cant find you.
who's it from?
If he's already got a C&D, they already HAVE.
Need more information to help.
What does it say you're violating and whats the site they want shut down?
I'm no stranger to C&D's and usually end up "winning".
First thing you want to do now is quickly find another host in a separate datacenter. If they DMCA you, the site gets blocked from the whole datacenter so have a backup host in mind asap as the process can take as little as 48 hours before you're booted.
If you don't want to post publicly, PM me with details and I'll take a look and offer you some advice.
you can just ignore it
Thats whats in the C&D
"We represent Facebook. Inc.. based in Menlo Park, California. It has come to our attention that
you are using malicious content-locking software that forces Facebook users into visiting thirdparty
marketing sites that pay you and your partners for the referral traffic. Moreover, in order to
maximize this traffic your script forces these users to share your links with other Facebook users.
You have also used your personal Profiles and fake Profiles you iiave created on Facebook to
On fb I have only my personal account, everything else I do it not connected with me.. even the JVs which I run are not detectable.
and the funny thing is that I know why I got this.. I was given admin rights on few pages for freewhich were owned by a person I know (he got the same letter) and he owned some app (makeanywish which was a little bit spamy and shady In my opinion) and I think that was the reason. ;( and now because of him I'm fucked (but not even in 1%) ;p
Here is the company which sent this to me:
1201 Third Avenue, Suite4800
Seattle, WA 98101-3099
Laura T. Kubank 4
Seems suspicious to me. What have they actually requested you to do? I'm yet to see anything they're actually asking you to do to rectify the situation.
If it was just being the admin of a particular page, FB would just delete the page with ease...
If it were me, I'd stop continuing to do whatever they've caught me doing. Ignore the C&D, as they could have emailed you on a gamble its the right person... replying will confirm their suspicions.
I'd still leave the sites online, but cease further fb promotion on them.
I'd then setup new domains with whois privacy and do exactly the same thing, but this time with new facebook accounts.

2. Have stopped and will not in the future send spam to Facebook users through Facebook,

3. Have stopped and will not in the future access Facebook's site, services, platform,

Along with your response, you must provide the following information:

reserves all rights and remedies at law or equity, under applicable domestic and foreign laws."
Fan pages are banned, that app (makeanywish) is still live and I don't have any signs of promoting some cpa offers on my profile.
Is it just an email with writing or does it contain a pdf attachment?
It contains pdf in the attachement
That's ridiculous. Without a court order you're under no obligation to give them any of that information.
If it were me, I'd ignore the email and do what I suggested above. If you get anything in the post (which is highly unlikely) then perhaps take it a little more seriously... but we can address that when/if happens.
i know a few others have gotten this from fb, maybe they can comment on what they did.
Well I have had one of these:
If you were in violation and you know you was AND they have your actual details (full name/address/#number) then reply and comply to their agreement. Its pretty basic and nothing more will come of it.
If you are in violation and they don't have your details, just switch up hosts and all that and then get back to business.
BTW that pdf you received is probably generic as that is what they send most of the time in relation to violations.
PS: Your from Poland so IMO they ain't going to do shit.
Seems kinda sketchy if you ask me.
Separate names with a comma.
