This is starting to irritate me. I've been number one in the past for this keyword for a short period of time but I've been stuck at #2 now for months. Prior to that I was stuck at #3 and #5 for an internal page. I redirected the internal page to my homepage and went to #2.

I also have other buffer sites/pages ranking for the keyword as well. Current rankings for pages not on my domain: 5 (youtube video), 8, 10, 12, 15, and many more through 100.

I don't get why I can't knock this guy off. I have more high quality links, more overall links, higher PR, more content, blah blah blah. Only thing he has on me is domain age that I can see.

I regularly build backlinks to that page and also to my buffer pages as you can see by the rankings. Not sure why I haven't bumped this guy off yet.

i personally operate under the assumption that the top 3-5 are determined more by onpage quality than offpage factors.

    just a thought.

I'm in the exact same situation as you bro. More links (quality), higher PR, etc, etc.. Only thing he has on me is domain age. Maybe domain age is becoming more important?

The guy out ranking me does not have the best onpage. Part of the keyword is not in the title or description.

You might try buying an aged domain and redirecting it to your site. Them build some backlinks to the 301 domain.

I have read on bhw many times that this helps give a site more authority, although I haven't personally split tested it with rankings.
