I joined the affiliate scheme of a pretty big company through one of the big networks and have done minimal work on my site because I wanted to dip my toe in the water and see if it was worth the effort. I earned £700 in the last month, which means I've generated about £7000 of sales for them. Suddenly the commissions have stopped dead, and everything I've earned is still pending, so I haven't had a penny of it yet. Thought I'd do some digging and the gits have turned off the tracking on their website. I get the distinct feeling that they don't like paying commissions, so what am I to do? The traffic I'm getting is review based, so the obvious thing I could do is change the reviews to slate them, which will lose them a considerable amount of money. Won't earn me anything but would make me feel better. I thought also about contacting all of their competitors and seeing if any of them would be interested in paying a monthly fee for me to send the traffic over to them instead - anyone got any other ideas of how I can sensibly re-monetize my de-monetized site? Could try adsense I guess. What a kick in the teeth. And it's so short sighted of them - with some effort I could have made so much more for them and me. Depressing.
