Very interesting journey. Good luck OP
Interesting journey, I'm rooting to you my friend! I hope you be successful
I'm on the same journey as you but struggling to drive traffic. I'll implement some of your strategies and see if that improves my case
Keep it up! Your journey is inspiring !
I'm not an SEO guru so I don't have much to share with you. Lol. Just read around BHW because this forum helped me a lot. You can also browse /r/blogging and /r/juststart on Reddit and you can learn from the case studies there.
But my advice based on my experiences so far is to focus more on quality content than SEO. If you have quality content it will trigger your readers to link to your articles or share them on social media. I still do some SEO but mostly the small stuff like commenting on blogs and making backlinks using free info found here in BHW. I never bought any backlink package. I just commented on almost every blog I found and took advantage of free backlink opportunities. I checked on Ahrefs and I now have almost 30k backlinks and 300+ linking domains.
Try to target low-competition keywords with decent traffic at first. When your blog has become more established and has a higher DA with lots of backlinks, you can focus on the more difficult and competitive keywords. If you keep on writing and writing, your blog's organic traffic will increase slowly but surely. There's no way to go but up, unless you get a penalty from Google or whatever. It's just a matter of targeting the right keywords where you can compete in the SERPs.
Hope that helps.
Yes, but not actively. I just share on my Facebook page and Twitter. Sometimes, I share my articles on Facebook groups, but only if I'm not lazy lol.
I'm using a 2GB Digital Ocean VPS on Cloudways.
When you first started, 0 visitors, what were your first steps to get them?
After how many months did you start seeing visitors from google?
What is your criteria for keyword to target, how many minimum searches?
Great job, keep going
Out of curiosity, what other link building methods you used besides blog commenting?
At first, I share my articles on Reddit and Facebook groups to get some visitors. I started getting visitors from Google on the 3rd month, but only a few per day. I think only during the 6th month that I got 100+ visitors per day. As for keywords, minimum searches is at least 2,000.
I put links to my blog on my other websites. These are not PBN but real business websites. I also build links using free info found here in BHW. You can find lots of them here. But most of them don't show up on GSC or Ahrefs. Eventually, I got backlinks from other blogs linking to mine.
An encouraging and educating journey, keep up the good work----
What are your site stats for example MOZ DA/PA ?
28 and 37
good luck with your journey
Okay, you convinced me !
I'm in !
I'll follow you till the end.
Hope you reach your goal.
Just got my Ezoic Premium downgraded to $220 a month. That makes me happy because my profits will be bigger.
Also received my July earnings via Paypal.
Why they lower the cost of premium?
How much did you made in July?
Also I have quit Ezoic, not performing well for me.
They automatically downgraded me to the lower tier because my net income is lower this month. But I can return to the higher tier if my net income increases.
I made $2,091 last month.
What's your EPMV with Ezoic?
with Ezoic I had around 2$/2.50$
Switched to Adsense and I am having a RPM of 5$
I do think I have to blame the very slow loading speed of ads/website. Last month I also had various DNS integration issues where for several days I did not earn a single cent or else I would have crossed the 1000$ mark..
Currently I've applied at oko.uk as they are as well a Google Publishing Partner so finger crossed!
Interesting. Fortunately, Ezoic has given me at least 3x earnings than Adsense.
First time I've heard of oko.uk.
Hello. How are you? Where do you buy your backlinks?
AUGUST 2019 MONTHLY REPORT
No. of Articles: 300 (+11)
Visitors: 327,761 (-26,290)
Pageviews: 501,086 (-51,047)
Email Subscribers: 406 (+23)
Earnings: $1,765.79 (-325.49)
Expenses: $199.71 (-275.15)
Profit: $1,566.08 (-50.34)
As I mentioned in my previous post, Ezoic downgraded my premium plan to $220 per month. I don't know what happened but they only charged me $170 for the month. Well that makes me happy because I have more extra cash. Hopefully I can go back to my previous $440/month plan if and when my earnings return to the previous months' level. I'm only earning about $15 per day with Ezoic Premium when I used to earn $30.
I'm still nowhere near my goal of $5,000 a month. That's mostly due to laziness and also because of numerous distractions. I have several other projects too and I even started up an Amazon affiliate site. But I want to focus on my tech blog. I promised to myself that I will work at least 8 hours a day exclusively on my blog, and then only work on my other projects after I'm done with my blog.
This month, I will be writing articles for mainly US audience. The past few months I have written mostly articles about local topics which mostly have shit RPM/EPMV. I will probably buy another 7-day trial of Ahrefs to gather topics from other tech blogs.
So that's all for now. In my next update I will share some of the topics that I will write and my strategies for writing these articles.
