First of all congratulations on taking action and being consistent, you succeeded where 90% fail just by sticking with it for a few weeks.
First of all, food porn is a decently popular niche, so it's a double edged sword. The number of likes you get in this niche is always gonna be big (the content is highly likable, duh) but shares are key here, how many shares are you getting? It sounds stupid but making callouts for people to share the content (either in the content or in the desc) really does help.
I'd try to make more stories daily and see if it has an impact, it's always a plus as long as they are equally engaged, no matter how spammy it may feel.
Since food porn is so popular, there are probably engagement groups in this niche. Join them and get active there, but don't join general engagement groups unless there are members in your niche there.
Optimizing hashtags goes without saying, ideally try some usual keywords + some brand new keywords day to day to target different type of food and attract new followers.
When it comes to the content itself, right now at your stage it should just be reasonably good. After you've grown to like 10k+ followers, try to create a consistent, premium style/branding across all of your content. Even a consistent filter style over your posts. Invest in editors if you need to, people like when a page stands out instantly.
People will tell you a consistent style doesn't matter but that's BS. I see you want to be a big name in the industry so start thinking about how to prem-ify your stuff early. Good luck.
