I'm starting a couple of new IG accounts and wondering if using ads is a good way to get the first 1-2k targeted followers.

Just boosting content directly in the app.

Does this sound OK for accounts that are just a few days old or is it a red flag?

I'm not doing any automation.

The 2 accounts will be set up and run from my cellphone which also has my personal IG on it which I've had for years.

Would anyone have concerns with this approach to get the accounts started?

Thanks!

With ads, its good and you can grow the account a very good amount. However, when talking to other agencies who use natural exposure like Reels to grow their page, they noticed when they boast their post using meta ads, the reels dont go as viral. They checked with 500 accounts, however I suggest you to look into that if that is something you want to do.

In the end it also depends on the niche you’re running, if everything is white-hat then it shouldn’t be much of an issue to run ads for new accounts.

Thank you. Yes I've heard something similar. However I'm going to try it still. I'm interested to see what the reach is like for 100% organic reels after I stop ads.

Agreed. Super white hat. I'm going to give it a shot and will post if there are any interesting results.

I think it will work very well but you also need to share posts everyday and interact with other people from the same niche. In addition to these, you can buy some followers to make your account look more reliable

Should be fine if you're not doing any automation. Boosting from the app is actually one of the safer ways to grow early on, especially if your content is solid. Just keep the targeting tight. Running it from the same phone as your personal is usually no issue unless you’re doing sketchy stuff.

Starting a couple of fresh Instagram accounts and thinking of using the native “Boost Post” feature to get some initial targeted followers — nothing aggressive, just basic content promotion from within the app.

The accounts are only a few days old. I’m managing everything manually from my phone (which also has my personal IG account that’s been active for years). No bots or automation involved.

Just wondering if it’s safe to run small promo campaigns on new accounts, or if I should wait a bit before doing any paid promotion. Curious if anyone here has tried this method to build early traction.

Appreciate any insights or experience. Keeping everything clean and manual.

It’s a solid way to start. Boosting content from the app is safe, even for new accounts, as long as everything looks natural. Just don’t go too aggressive too fast let the account age a bit and keep content quality high.

run awareness ads and its good choice to start with ads for traffic.

ads are a legit way and the main purpose of the app's existence, so we're pretty sure it's a good strategy. but you should also consider paid collaborations with bigger pages and accounts that create content in the same niche as you. however, our recommendation is to focus on your content first.

You could just test this with one of those accounts, if it doesn't workout/affects badly, you won't be degrading both the accounts at once.
