How would someone go about importing one of the high mpg diesel vehicles from europe to the United States? I think it would be awesome to have a car that can go 65-70 mpg.

Why not buy a Volkswagen Jetta? I have one and get about 50mpg on the highway and 46 in town.

If you actually have $50,000 - $70,000 to spend - ring up some car manufactures you like the look of and speak to someone. My dad just got the new 2012 320i as a company car and it has that new stop - start technology in it. I can't remember the exact figure, and it depends on how you drive it too, but if my memory serves me right I think it was getting between 50-60 MPG.
