Well it took him a week to finally do it but this douche finally issued an apology for his piece about the Canadian military.

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,510583,00.html

For those that haven't seen the clip, I will add it at the bottom. I love to joke around and laugh as much as the next guy but I can't imagine if shit like this was said about the American military (in any capacity). We have lost 116 over there and the US has lost 640. Not running any sort of comparison, just bringing people up to speed. A lot of Canadians are dropping Fox News from their cable service over this.

Red Eye is a VERY satirical program, so I would not take stock too much in the banter.....

However, I have seen many of the films featuring the Canadian Army fighting the Taliban and I applaud their courage.

Now if you watch the clip that you put up in your post to the end, you will notice something that IS actually pertinent.......the very idea that you can no longer call Terrorists what they really are Terrorists, and that the War On Terror is no to be called by that name, but by some weird word-speak that resembles little of what it is supposed to describe.

    Crazy, ain't it?

I will bet you that the Military that has faced and fought the Taliban, would call them what they are.......Terrorists.

I do see how you feel offended by some of what they said on Red Eye..........I applaud the Canadian Troops who are actually brave enough to engage and kill the Taliban. Other troops from other countries are not allowed to directly and aggressively engage and kill the Taliban. And they really are not in the fight.

I would not drop Fox News just because of Red Eye. It is satire and I am sure that Fox News as an entity would NOT agree at all with Greg G.........

THIS American (a former US Army Medic/Psych Tech) is PROUD of the contribution of the Canadian Troops.......a big HOOOOAHHH!!

By the way, if it is true about the problems with some of the military readiness of the Canadian military, this is indeed troubling. And should be addressed.........you have to have the proper equipment to fight wars with......

Thanks again to the Canadian Troops!!

The funny thing is that nobody here calls the enemy "terrorists". I mean sure, when they blow up a market full of innocent people, they call that a terrorist act but none of the troops are saying their buddies were killed by a terrorist, they were killed by the enemy. Their thought being that just because they use IEDs instead of Predator drones to kill their enemy, it doesn't make them a terrorist.

If they were simply terrorists and not a true enemy army, then they would have been rolled over by the Russians, the Americans, the British the Canadians etc but they haven't. In fact, the Taliban is winning the fight there. Not sure if you guys see those kind of reports on the news down there but the situation is bad.

I am offended and many others are for the exact same reason. We sent our troops over there to assist the US and UK and have lost a lot of soldiers. For the first time since WWII we moved from a peace keeping role to a combat mission. This caused a lot of tension across the country. Because our military was used mainly for peace keeping, we don't have trillions of dollars spent on equipment...when we run out, we run out.

So to imply that these guys risking their lives helping the US led mission are wanting R&R to run on the beach is disrespectful. And again I bring up....if anyone in the world said anything that vaguely disrespected the US military (satire or opinion), every channel would be running stories non-stop about it. All that people north of the border are asking for from the American media is the same respect for their troops that is given to yours.

I LOVE satire and encourage them to rip on any part of Canada that they want. But when you see 4 coffins coming off a plane on the news and then that clip above, you gotta know people are going to be offended.

Quite annyoing show indeed :p stupid people talking shit about things they don't know. I hope this isn't classified as political but You just can't win in afghanistan because you don't have support of the Locals, There would be 2 choices imo

    1. Get the fuck out from there which would make all these years and dead people on both sides worthless
    2. Bomb whole country to ground which would count into many suicide bombing.

Oh well see whats going to happend :)

I like Fox news but Greg Gutfield is indeed a schmuck. So many great people gave their lives for the freedoms we enjoy, and look what he does with his.

Oh yeah, the 'war-on-terror' no longer exists. It's now an 'overseas contingency operation."

Afghanistan is a complex situation, for sure.

I don't think that I would go so far as to say that the war is unwinable, just yet.........

I did not take it as a political to express your viewpoint on the war there....

This is how discourse is SUPPOSED to be........no name calling or put downs.

When you have a country in which women were publicly hanged, shot and beheaded in soccer stadiums, well, you are dealing with people that are so vastly different from most people in the world.....

On the other hand, you have brave women who are standing up against this horrible treatment, despite the fears that those segments of Afghan society that still agree with Taliban style rule will come and try to kill them.

    Now, that is brave, indeed.

Taliban= no music, no dancing, no internet, no television, and THEIR strict interpretation of Islam.........enforced at the end of a sharp blade or AK-47 to the head.

CNN did a great piece on life there before the US invasion.......and I think many people need to see it, again....(that is not to say that the threat does not still remain there)....

Anyway, I think the politics need to stay out of this......instead, clear and focused policy that makes common sense should rule......

On a personal note, right after 9/11, I had vivid nightmares that I was really in the trenches with bullets whizzing by, and the fear was real (I was in the US Army before 9/11)........now, imagine for a moment how it is for those brave enough to face evil every day for real.......

Again, a big HOOOOAHH to the Canadian troops and ALL of the troops fighting in Afghanistan and around the world.

Despite your political leanings. whatever they may be..........it is VERY dangerous to soften or minimize true danger with silly word-speak........it has been done in the past in other countries and with disastrous results.

On a very visceral level, using overseas contingency operation is just about as moronic as one can get......

It is so stupid, that even my 11 and 13 year old children thought it was one of the most asinine things that they had ever heard of......

What contingency is the operation for? I mean, can you imagine if they had tried to call WW-2 the "Overseas Contingency Operation" , wow!

A murder or rapist IS a murder or rapist.......not misunderstood man made disaster........

As my kids would say "Word Fail".........

It is something akin to the individual whose verbosity goes beyond the pale and you just end up getting angry and aggravated with the way too wordy person..........and keep thinking to yourself.....please get to the point and do so quickly.....or just shut up.....

Anyway, it is good to see people unafraid to speak out......and by the way, this is in no way political.......I don't care which party wants to institute this stupid stuff.....it is still stupid.

I guess I would get fired or an Article 15 if I were in the DOD.........I would ALWAYS refer to terrorists as terrorists and the war on terror as what it really is........at EVERY chance I could get...... :)

Freedom of speech, there bud..........there is a reason that most of us cherish it so very much.
