My name is Paul - I am a 31 year old husband and father of two wonderful little children.

I am here to learn everything I can because I am not cut out to be a marionette to Corporate America nor do I aspire to work my way up so I can slave away for 80 hours per week working to make someone else rich. Also, and more importantly, I hate missing my kids grow up.

I started with a Network Marketing company about a year ago, quit my job because I so desperately wanted to work for myself and be home with my family, and proceeded to lose my ass and had to go back to a job because I realized having bullshit conversations with people selling a dream was just not my cup of tea.

But no way in hell am I staying in a job. I have no doubt I'll be home again real soon, but this time for good. I have been reading anything and everything I can get my hands on regarding IM and am getting ready to jump in and start taking some serious action (sticking your toes in the water is lame). Plus I come from a computer background - networking although I wish it was web design now - but I do catch on to the technical mumbo jumbo pretty quickly.

Anyway, I just about crapped myself when I found this forum - lots of cool people here willing to share and help each other out and I look forward to not only learning a boatload, but also contributing when and where I can.

    Welcome Paul

A long time ago I tried Network Marketing but the selling to people face to face was just not my cup of tea. IM has allowed me to make a great income and I have never spoken a single word to any of my customers.

Welcome Dude, You've made a good decision...
I believe most of us here can't get employed...
even if you can have a job, in the back of your
mind you believe that it's not the end of it.

Personally I hated jobs... I think that it's just
limited me... I wanted to be free.

Robert Kiyosaki once said... "how can you be
free if someone else tells you when to take
    a break"

"How can you be free when someone decides
how much you gonna get paid"

Dan Kennedy said... you have to have (what he
    call) "self appointed" attitude

We all have been chosen by others sometime
in our life... like in school our teachers/ professors
decided what grades to get but it is only in
entrepreneurship that you appoint yourself to
    be what you want.

"pmcdonald" you are on the right path brother,
to get out of the rat race....

Lastly about living in Chicago... I wanted to move
there four years ago but it was the wind that scared
me off. I like the city but it's just too cold for me.

Paul, what part of Chicago? We may be closer than you think. What are you looking to learn here or what goals do you have? If you have answers to either one of those you have started the race right. Too often and even in examples on this site people get caught up in making money that they done actually do anything but download all the new stuff that comes out. What I am saying is you have the right attitude, the tools and people are here. Keep a goal in mind and you will achieve it. Welcome

    Hi Paul,

I'd like to extend you a warm & genuine "welcome" to the forum.

Trust me, you're not alone in your hatred of day jobs; 99% of us here detest them.

The quest to earn a full-time income online is arduous, but definitely achievable.

There's a lot of good info available here to get you started. Just be patient in your quest, eventually all of the tumblers will fall into place and the door will open!

I appreciate the kind words from everyone. While I wish I could be home today, I do realize that this might take a little bit of time but I am prepared.

As for working a job, unfortunately we are conditioned from the minute we are born that we are supposed to get good grades, go to college and get more good grades so that you can get a good job working for some great company until you can hopefully retire when you are 62.

I try not to be too biased with my oldest son, but it's important to me that I be the primary influence in his life - not some daycare and not any form of media i.e. TV because if I can ensure he grows up not hindered by much of the same conditioning I grew up with he'll be a hell of a lot better off. Not that I am that old at 31, but I only have now realized the fallacy of how the masses think.

Portillo - I actually live in a Southwest Suburb of Chicago. I am in the Plainfield/Joliet area. Where are you at?

And your name makes me hungry - I love Portillo's!

    Welcome aboard Paul,

I dabble in I.M, and N.M myself, there is a virtual treasure trove of info here. You won't ever look at the industry the same i assure you that.
My advice to you, follow the rules here, and offer up any advice. The mods do a good job of keeping this place an open but respectable/governed environment.

Your head might explode from all the info, but make sure you implement a plan of action otherwise you'll spread yourself too thin trying to make money every which way.
