    Hey everyone,
long time lurker/reader here. Love this place and all it has to offer. I do pest control for a living and quit with my company due to lots of shady practices towards customers and wanting us technicians to break some of the laws quietly to appease customers and keep them due to our high cancellation rates. I've always had a passion for more all-natural pest control. I live in a major metro area (Indianapolis) and currently there's no one offering completely natural pest control. It's effective and works better in my opinion. Also there's a lack of quality pest control companies here, due to the market we've had an influx of out of state companies move in selling their services for a high price but doing a cheap/substandard job because the market for pest control here is so good.

I want to offer something new and better. A quality company using only all-natural & organic insecticides. I've put feelers out already with existing customers (no I didn't sign any non-compete agreement thank god) and have a list of people ready to switch, the feedback here has been awesome both in person and feeling out through various local Facebook groups alone. My problem is with 2 kids and being the sole income provider saving money just hasn't been an option. I need about $10,000-$15,000 to get this thing off the ground. I've got a basic 12 page business plan and budget worked up already as well as the natural insecticides I'll be using and so forth.

My questions is what might be the best way to fundraise or find an investor for this venture? I've also considered a business partner who has the money to put into the venture. I come from poor family so that's out of the question to borrow from family and I don't want to take out a loan as that could kill the business before it really gets going. I know in this area with all the money here it will do very well and I hope to start expanding it to other areas and eventually go nationwide as I feel everyone needs completely safe, natural and non-toxic alternative to traditional pest control.

The good thing is that you don't need very much.
I would advice you to arrange meetings with all the larger-business owners in your area - people you know and money to spare.

They hopefully know your face and trust can easier be gained.

Try DealMarket, Palico, and Pitchbook. You'll have to create a profile and do some networking within the marketplace, but if you know what you are doing you should be able to find the right investors for your specific niche.
