    Hello,

Ever since I came to the forum I have engaged in multiple conversations with members from several countries more than ever before.

My concern comes from the three dots ... Like I am not sure if I am getting this right or not.
Usually, when I type the 3 dots in a conversation, if I ever do it, I do it in an "angry" manner or something like "ffs so annoying".

I have recently started to notice a lot of members from certain countries (not being racist, simply noticed members from these countries used it really frequently) constantly using the 3 dots in several sentences within the same conversation.

Now my concern; is this a sign of "annoyance" or is it something normal in certain countries which people use to communicate 'normal' stuff?

It pisses the fuck out of me.

    Example:
    hello...
yes I can certainly help you...
we provide solutions for this and that...

Seriously, what the fuck is that? It gives me the feeling of him/her being an arrogant person

Anyways, I want to know if my concerns are right or wrong and this is something normal or if I should talk to the people who do this because it really annoys me.

    Let the discussion begin

I use it when I want to make a "pause" in the sentence. Dont think its country specific on my end.

Yes.... I use it as a pause gap in a sentence. My grammar however is shocking so I'm probably doing it wrong.

Same issue here, I use it way too much.. (see what I did there? :D)
I've noticed that quite a few people take it in the same was as you so I'm getting some dotdotdot rehab and trying to avoid using it whenever possible.

It means you have a trailing thought that just hangs there and isn't really complet...

THIS IS WHAT YOU DO WHEN YOU ARE ANGRY!!

Unless you use 5 dots, THEN you re picking a fight.

Pause, trailing thought or just not a clear cut end of sentence... :)

Nothing to get upset about. It is quite common in chat also.

Cool, thanks a lot for the replies. I'll just ignore it from now on. It was just that all my life I have used it and I have seen it used as a "annoyed" term, of course, unless it is used for word omissions or other ways in a formal context.

    Yes double L, spelling mistake.

.. and ... as said above can be used for pauses.. I usually use 2 dots instead of 3.. I'm too lazy lol.. so don't worry, they are just pauses, but when somebody just writes ... without any other text, then you fucked something up

The three dots only mean a pause in their long race of thoughts. It doesn't necessarily mean that they're arrogant or angry...
