I'm currently trying to grab expiring domains without the use of drop catching services such as namejet, snapnames, pool and so on. The domains are somewhat valuable to me but not enough to bid 69$ on the popular drop catching services. Yet for some reason these domains often times get registered on the expiring date but NOT by the popular drop catching services (I check to see if there are any bids before the limit date/time).

So it seems some unknown service or individual is grabbing them before I can.. So my question is : is there any way I can compete with this ? using my own custom programs for drop catching? I don't know anything about that so if you could give me a hint in the right direction for this that would be awesome.

    tyvm!

Back Order them, the registrar keeps a hold on the domain for 7 days I believe after it drops so back ordering is the only way.

No I disagree, a quarter of a million or something silly numbers of domains expire daily, it's big business. When I can be bothered I post lists by the thousand of freshly dropped 4 character and 5 character domains. I have a tool that checks domains availability as I browse the lists. It cost $5 US

No you cant. I tried many times with cheaper backorering services but no succes. Only way is snapnames, namejet etc. Sometimes i placed backorder on snapnames, namejet etc and fail - domain was registered by foreign registrar. Try to backorder domains on dynadot.

Tip: dynadot backorder ends (as far as i remeber) 1 hour after namejet. No bids on namejet = high possibility that noone placed backorder on snapnames etc. and maybe dynatod will register that domain for you. Dynadot backorder cost only 15$ so its nothing compared to namejet.

I just got a PM requesting the name of my $5 tool, but I'm not allowed to reply to PMs yet, not enough posts. Sorry "futureproofseo". To me this is commercially sensitive info, it is enough to build a nice site out of, so I cannot post the name publicly, sorry.

And when it comes to NameJet and Snapnames, then they have their own network of registrars.. some domain names, NameJet won't be able to catch faster than SnapNames, same thing is with SnapNames.

Allot of people use software like DesktopCatcher to drop catch them using API's from DynaDot and other registrars. This kind of software won't beat NameJet or SnapNames..But it will beat hand registering and works pretty well for domains that aren't getting backorder bids.

    Reinforcing MichelinaBratz:

Namejet (Network Solutions, Enom, etc.) and Snapnames (Moniker, Tucows, etc.) have exclusive relationships with some registrars, so if there is demand for an expired domain from one of those registars it will only be available on their partnered marketplace.

    Question ....

If I make a $69 bid on namejet what will that mean?

Will I get the domain before it drops ? I want to buy an aged domain, I bought one the other day through godaddy (not the auction).... I check the domain age today and the thing is 1 day old. Da fack.
