I don't know the exact details behind this, but I got an email from demandprogress.org today saying that the government now wants to mandate that anyone using the internet have these "internet ID cards" so that they can track everything each person does online.

Demandprogress.org is the same company that sent out petitions for everyone to sign to oppose the "internet blacklist bill" that was circulating around not too long ago.

Anyway, not sure how serious this bill is or if it would really ever happen, but here's a link to the petition if you want to sign it:
    Code:
    http://act.demandprogress.org/sign/internetid/
The government needs to stop trying to invade our privacy with all this shit.

Not to be skeptical, but I'd make an iframe on something like that, and let the website run viral through the gullible alley, and make money off email submits on that petition.

lol, people will hack the shit out of other people and take someone elses "internet ID" and do all sorts of illegal stuff with it.

Guess who will be in trouble? Not the hacker, but the person who's ID they stole.

    Wonderful idea. [/sarcasm]

People who pass these bills are idiots, "interne ID cards"!?!? LOL!
We already have those... but not in a card form.
It's called ISP IP + their database with our names and addresses.

Haha, that's not a bad idea. I think Demandprogress is legit though...the internet blacklist bill ended up being real and it was struck down with the help of people signing the petitions.

It wasn't like a hit and run where they got people to sign and that was it. They kept you updated on what was happening and even sent pre-written letters to send to your local congress people and all that.

I also heard this story from a few other places so I don't think they are just BSin to get people to submit their emails.

Is just momentary, you will have to get a microchip inserted under your skin soon.

They want to track everything about you, is pure fascism, guys.

Is very sad the world is going to this way.

    Read Logans Run

It is an old Sci Fi book.

Interesting how Sci Fi often mirrors events that eventually come to pass....

This Internet ID stuff is for idiots.
