Gov Wants Vietnam Users to Verify Their Identities in Social Media Platforms

But really, it could start with one and then like Iran before you know it's everywhere

What's the Difference between Vietnam and Thailand? I find the two very similar/confusing

The world has been getting pretty scary lately.
Governments wanting IDs for social media, EU Chat Control, EARN IT Act, unnecessary hard regulations on crypto, 'encryption' backdoors, AI usage for data collection, quantum computing data threats, and everything else that is coming.

There's huge money in consumer data. I'm sure Vietnam won't be the only country to propose such a law.

Not surprised the Vietnamese government is doing this. A lot of people I know personally who got big YouTube and Instagram accounts got their account hacked by Vietnamese people, blackmailing them or selling their accounts. There is a lot of phishing and scamming going on. Their government/police probably get hundreds of complaints/lawsuits coming in every single day.

If that become a law worldwide then more than half of the accounts across all the social media platforms will be gone.
