You don't really have any other choice. Did you deliver him anything, what you can prove? Because it might be hard to prove, that you indeed coached him with only chat logs (especially to someone from the PayPal support staff who doesn't know shit about IM), however if you sent pdf guide(s) or video tutorial(s) for instance, that's hard evidence.
