I was buying this game account from someone through Skype. The deal was that I would send half, he would give user and pass, then I would send the rest of the money. So I sent him the money, and he started spouting bullshit like "I got $29.80, I don't want it to be a decimal." I ended up sending him $10 more, and then it became apparent he was scamming me.

[7:14:13 PM] CHOOO CHOOO: pay me the rest
[7:14:17 PM] CHOOO CHOOO: of the money
[7:14:21 PM] CHOOO CHOOO: and i willl send
[7:14:26 PM] CHOOO CHOOO: i know you will disupute
[7:14:28 PM] CHOOO CHOOO: as as scam
[7:14:33 PM] CHOOO CHOOO: so unless you send
[7:14:36 PM | Removed 7:14:39 PM] CHOOO CHOOO: This message has been removed.
[7:14:42 PM] CHOOO CHOOO: im not doing anything

He actually takes the money I sent him and sends it to his "primary" PayPal account. Negotiating is done now. He says he won't send me the money even if I won't buy the account and that he even already "spent it" in the 10 minutes I was away. I have the whole thing recorded, if that helps in any way. How would I go about getting my money back? I sent the money as payments.

Live and learn? $40 life lesson. If it's Gaypal then he's not supposed to be using it for this so you can probably can him canned there. So yeah, dispute it.

Better Go For UnAuthorization Transaction on That Payment Then Paypal Will look out and Get it back to Your account , Don't Do dispute Its easy to scam buyers If seller reply on dispute ''Virtual Digital Goods'' Then Paypal Wont get back to Your Money..

Second Way Go Credit Card Provider and Make UnAuthorization on transaction They Will get Back Your Money To Your Account For Sure .

Best way is to go to your CC bank and open a dispute there, if paypal doesn't rule the case in your favor.

Not a good advice...
they will check his IP and browser user agent and they see every thing is same as before and no hacking attempt has done... there for they wont give him a dime... but you are correct in regards to vi ritual goods, 90% of times it will be in favor of sellers, He should claim he was buying a physical product (game) in that case he will probably get refund.

Okey,. But He bought user account For Game Not Like any Other Physical Product which is sifted through Courier or something else ..

My opinion dispute won't work if the seller reply as digital virtual goods...

file a chargeback or call paypal. Chances are much better when you explain your situation to them on the phone imo.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll start by calling PayPal and explaining my situation. I don't think disputing the payment will do anything since he sent it to a different PayPal account. If the call doesn't go well, I'll try the unauthorized transaction thing and make up a story. Anyone have any ideas for that?

By the way guys, my PayPal isn't verified and I don't use a credit card, so I can't really chargeback.
