    Hi,

i have reached PR5 for my site, but according to google webmaster tool (and according to statscouter stats) my site is not placed in SERPs for whatever keyword. Most of the backlinks are from blog comments and forums, sites are mostly not relevant to my niche.

I have checked my competitors, some sites with PR0 are in first 10 results for my main keyword phrase (3 words).

Question: how the hell is google deciding for what keyword will my site be ranked good in SERPs? I use different keyword phrases as backlink anchor text, i have main keywords in title + H1 tag, second keywords in H2 tags...is this just so-called "sandbox" for new domains?

    Thanks for help

I agree, I had a similair situation and got slapped by G a few weeks after increase in PR. Make sure you dont aquire to many links from same IP since the site is new.

Nothing? Thats just not true. For sure PR of a site is one of the factors for placing site to SERPs for specific keyword. Specially in my case, i have got this PR yesterday so it represents the current value of backlinks to my site...

If you know so much then why ask? Use your knowledge to figure it out

All google is messed up for over a week now.
Google Analytics in particular.. (I' actually looking for an alternative. It is deadly slow & Not up to real in stats).
All google tools contain loading issues.. I assume it's part of their new Google transition..

besides H1,2 tags is your page optimized for your keywords? how old is the site? Ive seen pr before good positioning... but it normally catches up.

    keyword in first 90 words?
first word in title - first word in description - first word in keyword meta
    LSI words sprinkled on page?
keyword as anchor on your homepage within content?
are your keywords too dense on the page? 1 time per 100 words is ok.
off page anchor text should be the exact keyword you are looking to rank for.

If I was you I would just pretend like pr does not exist. Just keep building links. If anything pr will help you hold on to a top ranking, but not really help get you there.

    Thanks for all your responses!

    @ theconfidenceman
    keyword in first 90 words?
    - not the exact phrase, will put it there

first word in title - first word in description - first word in keyword meta
-just title and descr, will put it to keyword meta

    LSI words sprinkled on page?
    -what is that??

keyword as anchor on your homepage within content?
-dont know what do u mean, you mean to put some link with my keyword phrase as anchor text? But link where? To some similar site?

off page anchor text should be the exact keyword you are looking to rank for.
-most of backlinks anchor text have my main keyphrase, definitely not all, i have heard that i should mix it

-wow, so you think google is able to find out that backlinks to my site were inserted from the same IP? I cant believe this....
