Won't reveal the neighborhood but I was able to get a website ranked for "neighborhood lawyer" and "lawyers in neighborhood" and "lawyer neighborhood." I'm on the front page of Google, Bing and Yahoo. I'm in the 2nd spot for Bing and Yahoo and like the 6th spot on Google.

I'm about to mass mail 100 lawyers in that area with an offer to advertise themselves or their law firm on my page. I'm going to open up no more than 2 spots on the top of the homepage for advertising. It's a neighborhood in New York with a population of almost 50,000 and I'm guessing lawyers have some extra income to spend on investments.

    My questions
    -Is this a good idea?
-How much should I ask per ad? (2 on the website max) I'm thinking $350 a month for 1 spot or $600 a month for both spots

What type of attorney? Family law, criminal, personal injury, etc.? Ranking for that would be much more valuable than an untargeted attorney. I'd focus your efforts on those law firms that provide it all under one roof. They may be more inclined to buy.

PS: Google does not like anyone making money off of advertisements. Expect your ranks to drop once you add those banners-even if you use no follow. Google is like a gold diggin bitch these days - trying to bleed a working man dry.

    Good luck

*Assphuck- you crack me up... Your freakn right about Google. I have had a few sites top 3 on Google, and sure enough once I started to post ads from my ad server... they didn't drop, the nose dived. It was a bitch to get them back up, even still couldn't get them in the top 20 without removing the ads.

Install AdSense for a few days. Take the AdSense earnings and do the math to see what you'd get in a month. Multiply by 20.

Putting the adverts in iFrames may not hurt those rankings... I am not sure though

    P.S.:
May be images of adverts also may not hurt those rankings.

Why put "ads" on the site... Google sees that and bitch slaps you.

What you need to do is put the lawyers contact info up there, just phone number and address. Google will see that and be like.. Ohh this is the lawyers website.. Ok, it will rank then.

Keep in mind, most law terms make like $10 a click, so adsense might make you more...

Seems you aren't getting many replies, either.

There's been some instability lately and BHW has been down...maybe it's related.

It must have taken a lot of effort to copy that right from Google's Adsense page.
